All Things: TELEVISON

Cool. I loved Carl Sagan's Cosmos and Neil deGrasse Tyson is a charismatic guy, hopefully they do a good job with it.

Under the Dome is very different from the book. I'm still kind of enjoying it. Watched High School High the other day...part of Fox's ADULTSWIM-lite attempt. Didn't care for it. Taking the Archies concept(and design) and pumping it full of modern day issues is a good idea but the writing just isn't there. Even in a 15 minute cartoon you have to go a little deeper than having a black/jewish character named Blackstein.

I haven't read the book, but I've read a lot of King and the show definitely captures his type of characters pretty well. I'm liking it. Crossing Lines on the other hand, I'm giving up on that one.

Thats sad to hear about Crossing Lines, I have 4 eps taking up space, guess I should delete?

I liked the pilot and thought it had potential but that was pretty much the high point so far. They're trying way too hard to be overly dramatic and it just fails because you don't care about the characters and they're following the TV drama formula playbook like it's the Bible. The best part is the number of American actors who can't do an accent to save their lives.

I'm still watching Under the Dome. Guess it's growing on me a bit. Didn't read the book and will follow show as it lasts I guess.

Now that the government tried blowing them up and pretty much ruined the surrounding area outside the dome, what happens if they get out? Nuclear fallout?
Or are they in some kind of purgatory by which they never do get out...hmm

And did the nuclear missile not work because the two kids happened to kiss at the exact moment it hit, or it just couldn't penetrate the dome?

Getting caught up on Copper...ALWAYS good to see Lee (Beecher from Oz) Tergesen. With him and Eammonn Walker showing up this season it's a reg'lar OZ reunion.

Oh ****adoodle, Maguire is a Copper again. A little iffy but it's an interesting development fo'shur!

I can't wait for September... Breaking Bad will be in full swing heading to its finish line, Sons of Anarchy will be firing up and NFL (yes, it is a television show :21smile: ) kicks off!

In the great tradition of asking your dvr to do too much on Sunday night, you are gonna want to watch this...

It will be airing right after BB on Sunday nights, I think right after...there is also the BB post show Talking Bad that has to go in there somewhere.

NBC Executives Robert Greenblatt and Jennifer Salke Talk Hilary Clinton Miniseries, HANNIBAL, REVOLUTION, and More | Collider

ROBERT GREENBLATT: AD: After the Bible is actually the next big Mark Burnett event series. We think that will be a big deal for us, not this coming broadcast season, but the following one. We’re developing a six-hour mini-series based on Cleopatra. We’re developing a four-hour mini-series based on Hillary Clinton, to star Diane Lane. We’re going to do an updated remake and re-setting of the classic Rosemary’s Baby. We’re going to do a new version of Stephen King’s The Tommyknockers. When you look at what happened with Under the Dome, an event series based on Stephen King’s The Tommyknockers sounded really interesting to us. And we have another limited series that we’re going to do with Mark Burnett, that we’re tentatively calling Plymouth, which is the story of the landing of the Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock.
