All Things: TELEVISON

So I just watched the pilot episode of Revolution on Hulu and I'm extremely impressed. I had high expectations for this show from the previews and the pilot delivered. They established the plot (for the most part) and left me wanting more.

Dare I say it has a vibe of Jericho (computer), Terra Nova (jungle), and Lost (mysteries) all bundled together?! Hell yeah. I loved all those shows. Plus... without spoiling anything... that one guy fights like Jack mother****ing Bauer. That's awesome in my book.

isn't it the dude who was the rapist in the Closer?

I already miss that show. Major Crimes isn't the same, but somewhat better than I thought it would be. Tao and Provenza just crack me up..

G4 Is No More; Will Be Rebranded in 2013 as Less Geek, More GQ | /Film

It seems after ten years, though, G4 will soon be going away. NBC Universal, which owns G4, has decided to rebrand the channel older and more hip, in the vein of the magazine GQ. The change is likely to begin in 2013. Read more after the jump.

Variety broke the news of the change though a spokesperson for the network wouldn’t comment.

The story says they’re hoping the channel remains true to its tech-saavy roots, but will begin to adapt them to a “modern male” audience “whose interests span beyond the dorm room or messy bachelor pad.”

Currently, G4′s TV programming competes with the likes of Spike, History, SyFy, Discovery and A&E. The GQ-rebranding (which, to be clear, is just an easy way to describe it and not an official, magazine related qualifier) would help radically differentiate the network from those channels and, one would image, attract advertisers who sell products that are a bit more upscale and could afford more expensive ads.

What this means for G4′s coverage of events like Comic-Con, E3 and Attack of the Show is uncertain, but it doesn’t look good. If the future G4 doesn’t focus on such events, that opens a door for someone to step in. Whether that’ll be an Internet channel like Nerdist or something else should be interesting to watch.

seriously...**** you,

I don't know if anyone watched AOTS this week...John Barrowman(Torchwood) was the guest host...and man oh man...someone give this cat a show. Openly and sometimes alarmingly gay, but man...the guy is charming as hell and just knows how to let it all hang out and have fun. Seriously, the best advocate for gays since George Takei on Howard Stern in my opinion. You cannot help but love the guy. Seriously, Oskar Moller, put him in your pocket and take him on an adventure charming.

Ok...Fox's Mob Doc looks like pure cheese. First off, the lead gal is far too good looking, which don't bother me none. But it hurts credibility. BUT...Michael Rappaport and William Forsythe(makes me wonder about Manya on Boardwalk) are both on it...so the devil in the details and all that.

My big problem with the lead is I want someone in the role who at least appears to be naturally "hardened" in order to deal with the mob (think Mariska Hargitay). This girl cast feels way too young for the role IMO and comes across as nauseatingly fake.

I gotta find a show to watch. Firefly filled the void left by Breaking Bad but I watched them all in like two weeks.

Hmm, trailer looked interesting. Maybe I'll check it out.

Watched the 2102 Fall Preview special on CBS last night. They highlighted 4 new shows: Partners a 'geigh-themed' sitcom that's doomed to fail, (I'll give it 3 shows before it's sh*&canned). Elementary A modern Sherlock Holmes (which looks like a re-tooling of Monk). Vegas, A series about the early days of Las Vegas and Made in Jersey, some sort of legal drama. Nothing shown is worth watching.

Elementary is a ripofferrrrrrrrr based on BBC's Sherlock reboot. As a matter of fact they actually asked the makers of Sherlock if they were interested in making an American version(the BBC version is also set in contemporary times). Well BBC refused...so they did it anyway. Vegas has Quaid/Chiklis...yet somehow it still looks kinda...meh.

Nick Chinlund Moves into 666 Park Avenue as New Recurring Character | Horror Movie, DVD, & Book Reviews, News, Interviews at Dread Central

A new recurring character has been added to the roster for ABC's "666 Park Avenue" as Nick Chinlund joins the series set at the Drake, a spooky Manhattan apartment building.

According to Deadline, Chinlund (Wyvern, Hallowed Ground, "24," "Desperate Housewives") will play Victor Shaw, a powerful adversary to the building’s owner, Gavin (Terry O’Quinn), who tries to take control of the Drake.

This makes me happy. A possible guilty pleasure has just gotten better.

With NHL13 out on Tuesday, I totally forgot about Go On. Been meaning to catch the 2nd episode to see where the show is going. The ratings were really solid for NBC standards too. That's good to see.
