All Things: TELEVISON

Tonight...Revolution and Mob Doctor.

Revolution premiered with super strong ratings. 4.1/11 with 11.65 million viewers. I'm happy it got ratings that high. Hope it sticks! I watched it again just for the hell of it even though I already saw it on Hulu.

No Jonny Lee Miller as Holmes?

No...the nerd community is visibly anti-Elementary. They basically cobbled the superior BBC series and it just looks like CSI:Whitechapel transferred stateside. With Watson 'turning japanese' and female to provide the requisite romantic angle. Johnnie Lee Miller has and will always be good...never as good as he was in Trainspotting though. PASS.

You're passing on a good thing. Miller is a very good Holmes.

I think the show will do well. Highly PUSHED and a dumbing down(sorry it kind of is) of the Sherlock mythos. CBS has the procedural hour long drama dispensed into a palatable science. Built in audience will eat this up. Ain't like TV don't feed on itself anyway. And Johnnie Lee Miller/Lucy Liu will pull in audience too. This will most likely be the big winner of the fall season. But...it's a show my mother would watch. Not exactly challenging.

Point taken. It does, however, have the potential to go either way in terms of being "challenging." It really depends on how they develop it through time. It is Holmes in the context of a procedural hour-long crime drama, but, at least in the pilot, they appear to deftly handle their best asset, which is the character Holmes.

So we have Revolution that premiered last week on monday, Last Resort this thursday, 666 Park Ave sunday. What am I missing for new shows? Elementary doesnt interest me much, if it starts getting good reviews here maybe I will jump on. What else?

Arrow?

Nope, Oct.10. Also this week...VEGAS(Chiklis/Quaid...written by Nicolas Pileggi) and Brickleberry. New cartoon on after Tosh on CC about the world's worst national park and the dysfunctional Forest Rangers that work there. The girl from Always Sunny/Spongebob/and Yucko the clown(Stern show) are some of the voices.
