All Things: TELEVISON

I will give sleepy hollow a few more episodes but it was a bit rough to get through. I see the similarities to Grimm but as of now Grimm is way better.

Yet you like Grimm. Feh. This is a version of that show, with more variation and potential upside. I have to disagree with you strongly.

well I stopped liking Grimm quite so much about half way through this last season.... but more importantly...

How can you possibly say Sleepy Hollow has more variation and potential upside??? It's been one episode. And a crummy episode at that.

No sir. Sleepy Hollow looks worse to me than Revolution. Speaking of which does anybody care about that show anymore?

Grimm is monster-of-the-week with stttttttrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetttttttttttttttttttttttttccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddddddddddddddddd out romantic subplot. Sleepy Hollow has way more POTENTIAL variation as far as what the meat of the story COULD be each week. The mythology seems a bit wider and more open ended. It's network...and FOR NETWORK I think it's silly as hell in a watchable way. Revolution/Grimm didn't have much from the get-go and did NOTHING with what they had. Is SH gonna be great. Probably not. But I thought it showed signs of being dumb fun.

but......... what are they going to do?

Every week one or two stupid "gosh he sure is a man out of time" jokes wrapped around an otherwise completely unbelievable comfort with his new era while fighting different macabre baddies that may or may not tie into an apocalyptic subplot revolving around the Book of Revelations?

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Say what you will about Grimm.... I like Hank, I like the Captain, I like Monroe, I like Monroe's girlfriend as shoehorned into the show as she was, I like the reoccurring minor characters.

I don't like Ichabod Crane, I don't like the girl and all the supporting characters introduced into the Pilot of Sleepy Hollow got killed.

And if episode two doesn't involve the entire community of Sleepy Hollow (and perhaps the world) all up in arms with curiosity/outrage at the decapitation of two law enforcement agents and rumors of a headless assailant wielding cauterizing axes and heavy artillery.... well then **** that show.

Sleepy Hollow was ridiculous. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, the Brooklyn 99 show was pretty funny so I will keep with that, even if the lead makes Shawn Spencer look mature.

The lead really sells it, which keeps the show from being inane. Poor Clancey Brown, always losing his head over things.

Do I try out Le Blacklist or Hostages?

I'm gonna do both. Can someone tell me, I thought I heard that Hostages was a finite show. If it isn't I do not want to waste my time. No way the conceit of the show can be manipulated for more than 13 episodes or so.

I say it starts out finite, but if ratings are good, they add a 2nd season and beyond.

i have no idea

I stupidly love Dylan McDermott, but in that "I'm a loveable lawyer who's going to save the day and bring the family together" kind of way. But I'll give it a shot

And is it just me or does ichabod crane look a lot like john pope from falling skies?

I liked Sleepy Hollow for what it was. Solid for a pilot too. The case files can provide loads of variety for MOTW themes. I started getting a Darksiders (videogame) vibe when you-know-who was revealed to be a you-know-what. :)

Hopefully FOX doesn't ruin it like all the other famous FOX shows of yore.

I enjoyed the premiere of Brooklyn Nine Nine quite a bit. It has a very likeable ensemble cast and a lot of potential. I found myself chuckling and smiling quite a bit. Combined with New Girl, it gives Fox two solid shows on Tuesday night. The Marvel superheroes show premieres opposite it this week which also looks good.

I thought Brooklyn Nine Nine was pretty good. I didn't think too much of the pilot though because they took so many clips from the trailers/commercials from that episode. So it wasn't as funny as it should have been. But I agree, it does have a ton of potential and I love the pairing with New Girl.

I watched Dads as well, mainly because of all the negative feedback it got. It was just as I expected.. really bad and unfunny. I seriously will never understand how most of these shows get the "green light" to be produced.

One of the shows I enjoyed last season was Chicago Fire, and that's moving to Tuesdays at 10 PM. Can't wait. Same for Revolution, which airs on Wednesdays now at 8 PM. I hope their ratings don't tank without help from The Voice. I would hate to see it canceled.
