All Things: TELEVISON

Ok...so caught up on the first 2 episodes of Vikings. Good stuff. Looks like they put a little more money into it this season. And they are already talking season 3. You guys should be watching this. Man, between this and Black Sails it's a good thing I never advanced emotionally since the age where I wanted to be a Viking or a Pirate.

And Banshee...I spent the last week and a 1/2 getting caught up...and they are already doing the finale'. Sheesh. It's a terrible show really. Sherriff Hood bones every woman(seriously they just fall onto his junk) and fights/kills every man. Like I said, terrible...but I do enjoy it.

yo jerseydevil, our boy finally got his comeuppance on king of the nerds last night....what of it

I thought he came a really long way and he handled his exit far better than I thought him capable of. Almost felt sorry for him. I like Jack to win, but I have to say I am secretly hoping the Hobbitses steals the competition. Xander(how has he made it this far?) and the girl are not championship material.

Forgot to mention...Bates Motel came back strong...BUT, not sure if it is trying too hard/I'm just over it/or I have to settle back into the groove of cray cray.

The post show...Look, I get people having problems with Chris Hardwick's 'enthusiam'/geek cred/whatever, but if you want to appreciate just how well he moves Talking Dead along...you needed to see this. A half hour of misery. The girl who moderated was woefully unprepared(constantly staring at cue cards) and had the spontaneity of a local morning breakfast show host. She had the benefit of having the creators and most of the cast and she just could not make it even mildly watchable. Who's idea it was to have Carlton Cuse and the other woman who run the show standing while everyone else sat should get fired immediately. Not even fun in a train wreck horrible way.

I haven't watched Friday's episode yet, but this show so such stupid fun. It's so terrible.

Also, seeing 300: Rise of an Empire friday night, I realized I miss Strike Back a lot too.

I watched the first half hour of From Dusk till Dawn. Once you get past the sort of jarring fact that they seem to be starting it over almost note for note, it ain't that bad. The Gecko Brothers, while no Tarentino/Clooney, do a good job. And the guy doing the QT part actually gives it more 'wait for the shoe to drop' menace. Nice revelation is Don Johnson in the Michael Parks sheriff role. It's a shame nobody but Tarentino/Rodriguez give this guy work. The show doesn't look cheap, which I feared, so that's a plus. Looks like Rodriguez is doing the Evil Dead 1-Evil Dead 2 thing by basically remaking something he had deeper thoughts on. We will see what happens, but pleasantly surprised so far.

El Rey network has very little content right now but it looks like they have some cool ideas like a throwback Shaw Brothers type Martial Arts movie of the week Thursday.

I tried watching the premiere of Believe last night. It's very heroes-lite (and I liked Heroes). Premise is interesting, but storyline development looks to be a problem.

Can't decide if I like the casting. The guy looks way too much like the lead singer of nickelback and that kept poking me. But the girl is cute, and could be fine if done intelligently.

The article is a little unclear, but it seems to indicate they're looking for another time slot for it. I think if they have any faith in the show at all, they shouldn't monkey with it too much and hopefully let it find its audience or vice-versa. It's not an easy sell, based on the first episode, because the main character is weak, but that could turn out to be one of the more interesting aspects of the show over time. They do have a good cast. I'll give it a chance if they continue, but I won't miss it if it is gone entirely.

What'd everyone think of Cosmos?

I enjoyed it thoroughly, although I could have done without the spaceship thing.

I'll catch up on this tonight or tomorrow. I'm not expecting much, so maybe I'll like it, too?
