I paid $100 for that Star Wars night thing a couple of weeks ago and THAT was overpriced.

$300? I can wait to go in there til it's been open a month and the crowds have died down a little.

L3-37 mentions Lando couldn?t get to Black Spire without her, and Qi?ra comments on making sure Dok-Ondar, a guest of Dryden?s, is taken care of. Both are references to the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy?s Edge areas at Disney Parks; Black Spire?s the name of the village and Dok-Ondar is an Ithorian collector who will have a role in Galaxy?s Edge.

Was at Disney yesterday for the sole purpose of seeing the re-kajiggered Pirates of the Caribbean...



I have my issues with them changing the Auctioneer's voice and patois more than I do with them reconfiguring the scene. The loss of the sometimes working Davy Jones mist curtain was offset by the more moody and freaky Optical illusion and lighting. Throughout the ride...minor adjustments. They cleaned up some of the pirates a bit too much, or just brightened up the lighting too much. Needs some minor adjustments volume wise too. Some of the scenes are dampened by the too loud previous scenes, or just too low volume on the new ones. Overall...a nice redo without stripping away too much.

The new dialog on the reconfigured auction scene is just awkward. I also feel like Redd (the female pirate) doesn't match the style of the other audio animatronics at all, she looks too new/modern.

I'm glad they brought back the original audio in the tunnel after the treasure scene and got rid of the mist water fall. That new illusion is great and illustrates the transition from the "dead pirates" portion of the attraction the "lively pirates" very well.
 
Oh HELL!!!!!!! I forgot to share best part of trip on Sunday. The place next to mansion shop, you know...the fritter and bread bowl place, HAD POTATO LEEK BREAD BOWLS. And they were good.
 
Since Jurassic Park will be closed soon and turned into a modern Jurassic World ride, here is the history of the ride in Hollywood.
 
This is just a personal bummer of a story.

So, I'm going to France for a couple of weeks in September, and a friend and I are gonna go to Disneyland Paris for a day while we're there.

One of the reasons I wanted to go was because of their takes on the rides and stuff here. Space Mountain there is a serious roller coaster with a loop and a corkscrew. Their Big Thunder Mountain is supposed to be really cool. And their Haunted Mansion is supposedly awesome.

Well, they've been refurbishing Phantom Manor since January with a planned late summer/early fall re-opening. I was hoping we might be able to catch either the opening or some soft opening/test runs. But now, they've recently announced that the refurb is getting extended all the way into 2019.
