I fail to see how that's stupid. Ever seen circus animals being "trained"? And the conditions they are kept in? Rule of thumb. ..if you wouldn't do it to a child, probably not great for any other living creature. Sorry, I'd ask you to expand on your judgement, but there really isn't an argument, unless you are pro animal cruelty.


Edit: I'm not arguing the "stupid ****" comment. Just disagree that this is one of those times.

This is a fair article representing both sides of the argument. I have and will continue to like you Nocturn, I can disagree with someone and separate that from my relationship with them, so...no harm no foul. I wish I could UNlike this post...

I actually was awarded a medal from Ringling Bros. for a stint I did with them in the fall of 1987 (as sort of a ginger tom cat clown)... I was the junior member of a troupe of entertainers that joined the circus for that three month stint...and I was the ONLY one that got the medal... This meant that I had to eat with the performers as well as sleep in the designated area...and not comfy in a hotel room... You were encouraged to try as much as possible...but I had trouble with the juggling and balancing upside down on various objects... I was surprised that I was good on the high wire...even with a bad knee and a fear of heights...and NO NET... Somewhere in the middle of the trip...I was up there with my bagpipes doing a pibroch at 5AM...

The medal basically states that if I produce this in front of the owner of another circus anywhere in the world...I would automatically get a job...even if it's cleaning up after the animal acts...
