Didn't see as many times as you, but I saw them quite a lot...especially the 'classic' lineup. Very sad. He had a rough couple years due to financial problems and the fight over the name etc. but I thought he had turned it around. Sad really...Static X was very unique and I still have to think he had some good music left in him.

I did see Static-X once live and liked Wisconsin Death Trip, but the band didn't hold my interest much after that. And I am sure, I read somewhere that he was a vegetarian.

But, yeah, that's much to young. RIP.

Wayne Static Death Brings Conflicting Reports

hortly after the news broke, various Internet sources reported that Static died from a drug overdose. However, Loudwire reported that a publicist for the musician put out a statement saying that drugs played no part in his death. A press release from VQPR, which has repped Wayne Static in the past, explained that Static "passed away quietly in his sleep at his home," according to Loudwire.

The statement continues, "The couple [Wayne Static and wife Tera Wray] was getting ready to leave for a Fall/Winter tour this morning. They were to have left the night before on Halloween, but decided they would head out early in the morning November 1. The couple, known for partying heavy, had left hard drugs in 2009 and had not touched them since. Static's first solo album – Pighammer – was a tribute to his new non-drug life and hoped it would help others to get clean from hard chemical drugs. More official information about his passing will be released in the following days. This is not a drug related incident or an O.D."

interesting how they both say were "waiting for him to come back". was that code for "waiting for him to ditch his wife?" neither of the two don't even mention the wife but they say they are sad for wayne's siblings.

That statement needs to be taken with a grain (or three) of salt as it obviously came from the wife... even if he did die in his sleep with no drugs in his system, the wear and tear that his years on the dark side took on him no doubt caused whatever happened.

And yes, the wife was hated by just about everyone involved with the Static camp from the moment she arrived. That is straight from the source BTW. For me, it was a shame to see Wayne allow himself to get "Yoko'd" as bad as he did.
