Former King Lonnie Loach passed away yesterday. This was from Mark Hardy's facebook page:

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lonnie Temple Loach, who passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 1, 2025, in his 57th year.
Lonnie was the devoted husband to the love of his life, Janis (née Cleghorn), with whom he shared 37 wonderful years. He was the proud and loving father of Ryan (Lesley) and Mitchell (Meagan), and the absolute best grandfather to Levi, who was the center of his universe. He was the cherished son of Neill and Terri Loach.
Lonnie will be deeply missed by his brothers Lance (Michelle) and Dana (Missy), as well as his brothers-and sisters-in-law Rob (Chantelle), Jane (Ange), Jamie (Kelly), John (Marilyn), and Paul. He was a proud uncle to Brady, Kramer, Dawson, Zara, Kiya, Layla, Jake, Jack, Dustin (Caroline), Keegan (Cassandra), Brianna (Rane), Mikayla, Vanessa, Quinn, Daniel, Troy, Alysha, Kaylee (Luke), and Griffin, and will be fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless good friends.
Many knew Lonnie as the small-town boy who lived his dream playing professional hockey in the NHL — one of his many great achievements. But his greatest pride and joy were never professional ones; they were the life he built with his family. He poured his heart into raising his sons, creating lasting memories, and eventually becoming "Grandpa" to his grandson Levi — lovingly calling him "my guy."
Lonnie believed that what truly mattered in life was not success, wealth, or recognition, but the people gathered around your dinner table each night. To him, the most important value was showing up — in both the good times and the hard times. He made sure that everyone around him felt loved, welcomed, and valued, and that legacy of love will live on through all who were fortunate enough to know him. Lonnie was a man of boundless integrity.
The Loach family would like to thank Dr. Kim Tsoi, Shri, and the staff at Princess Margaret, Mount Sinai, and Toronto General Hospital. A special thank-you to the nurses and staff at the Temiskaming Hospital chemotherapy department and Ontario Health at Home, whose support meant so much in Lonnie's final months. The family is also grateful to the doctors and staff at Health Sciences North for their compassion and care, and would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Spencer Wilson for his sincere care, gracious support, and the many house calls he made to check on Lonnie and his family.
The Loach family would also like to thank Garret Huff and Braydon Johnson, friends who became chosen family. Lonnie loved them as dearly as his own sons. They stood by his side in his final moments and provided unwavering love and support to all of us over the past few months.
In keeping with Lonnie's wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Buffam Leveille Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at Riverside Place on Monday, September 22nd, 2025 from 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM. All are welcome.
In Lonnie's honour, memorial contributions may be made to Community Cancer Care. Condolences and tributes may be shared at www.buffamleveille.com
