AllThings:NotWorthStartingANewThreadOver

that was a tongue in cheek post. i'd heard about that docu-(mocku)-mentary. i haven't watched it though (nor do i plan on it) so i wasn't 100% sure. you just confirmed it for me though, thanks! too bad, i really like casey affleck. i looked phoenix up on imdb a while ago though and saw he had a bunch of acting projects lined up after "i'm still here" so i figured he hadn't been serious, but i wasn't completely sure what was up with that "phase" of his.

Wasn't sure if you were wink/wink or not but other folks have been taken aback. Just thought I would timeline it and get it out there.

ya, i know i didn't communicate it very well in that initial post. i also didn't realize there were others here who didn't know about the affleck project. sorry!

Matt Dillon, Brendan Fraser and Craig Robinson to Star in FREAKY DEAKY

A trio of actors have signed on for Charles Matthau?s (The Grass Harp) adaptation of the Elmore Leonard novel Freaky Deaky. Variety reports that Matt Dillon, Brendan Fraser and Craig Robinson will star in the Hollywood-centered crime flick. Dillon will star as an LAPD bomb squad officer who happens upon a plot hatched by two hippies who plan to scam a movie mogul using their bomb-making skills. Fraser plays a former activist who now puts his bomb-knowledge to work as a Hollywood pyrotechnics and demolition expert, and Robinson is poised to play a former Black Panther who now serves as the assistant to Fraser?s character.

In pitch-perfect casting, William H. Macy is already set to star as the alcoholic Hollywood mogul that the two hippie characters attempt to scam. The other day we heard that Sienna Miller may be starring in the film, but she wasn?t mentioned in Variety?s report today. Matthau will direct, and adapted Leonard?s novel himself. The film version will take place in 1974 instead of Leonard?s late 80?s setting of the book. While Fraser is used to starring in what can mildly be described as horse**** as of late, the other actors involved sound promising. It?ll be interesting to see who Matthau gets to fill out the rest of his cast. Production is set to start this summer in Michigan. Hit the jump to read a synopsis of Leonard?s book.

I loves me some Craig Robinson!

Olivia Wilde Finds The Words To Describe Bradley Cooper | CHUD.com

It?s clear every news story this week will feature Bradley Cooper in some way. Just grin and bear it, guys.

Besides, this one is actually about Olivia Wilde, and how she decided to add another notch on her Handsome Costar Belt. According to a press release from Benaroya Pictures, Wilde Zoe Saldana, Ben Barnes, John Hannah, J.K. Simmons, and Nora Arnezeder have joined Cooper, Jeremy Irons and Dennis Quaid in the indie thriller, The Words.

The plot description is a little thin. It centers on an author (Cooper) who ?at the peak of his literary success, discovers the price he must pay for stealing another man?s work.? It feels a bit Limitlessesque, doesn?t it? It immediately makes me think it will rely heavily on his tried-and-true smug persona, but I suppose that really depends on whether this character consciously plagiarized or not. Maybe this is Secret Window territory. I?m also curious why such a character-centric story boasts such a large cast. The press release doesn?t give any indication as to who Wilde and Company will be playing, but I think Love Interest is probably her enviable role. (So enviable?)

The Words will be the directorial debut of Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal of Tron: Legacy (let?s not hold it against them for now), and starts shooting this month in Montreal.

He's apparently putting the wood to her in real life too...NOW you guys wanna punch him in the face, right?
