Is anybody surprised at this?

I am a big fan the Heston one. It's one of those old school bigger than life Hollywood epics that I have a soft spot for. I enjoy the silent version. And then there's the whole Jewish themes to it! Ha!

But I wasn't going to watch this new version. I have had enough of remakes and these shenanigans were a big deal back in the day, but they don't really fit in today's climate.

Not to mention a lot of people don't really know or remotely care about Ben-Hur.

Still, I wouldn't change the channel if this remake was coming on. ;)

Terrific article. Nice breakdown on how practical and cgi can work so well together. I remember watching this scene live and just being gobsmacked by the whole thing. Truly one of the greatest moments I have ever witnessed television wise.

Unfortunately, not everyone feels the same way.

One of the bits during the Emmys involved Jimmy Kimmel’s mom making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for everyone in attendance, and the Stranger Things stars passing them out. It was a cute idea, but some, like Emily Ratajkowski, grumbled that the sandwiches “weren’t that good” (probably too much jelly making the bread moist), while others balked at being around food with peanuts. (An LA Times reporter overheard a guest complain, “You never just hand out peanut butter. That’s such a liability.”)

Munchies reached out to Adam Bailine, the VP of Marketing and Communications at the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, who said, “We received complaints and concerns regarding the broadcast… It is extremely risky to pull a stunt like this without considering the danger.” The foundation also released a statement that read, “While we understand the joke presented by Jimmy Kimmel was aimed at the recent pricing events of epinephrine auto-injectors that has been broadcast in the media over the last several weeks, it wasn’t well-received by the larger food allergy community.”

OH FOR F_ _ _ _s SAKE!!!!!!!!! We have officially outlived our usefulness. I hope that an allergy to air wipes out the human race once and for all so I never have to read about a group of *******s complaining about a nice innocent gesture.

I get that some people have peanut allergies, but talk about overreacting. I don't care how rich or famous I ever get (not likely, haha), but I will always have room for PB&J.
