******ing Alan Wilder was so critical. Brakes my heart he's gone.

Given that Depeche is my favorite group, I have to agree. He absolutely shaped their sound and while they have continued to make some pretty strong music (with a few clankers mixed in), they never really have released a truly great album since Songs of Faith and Devotion. Ultra is probably the closest they've come which is amazing and a tribute to Tim Simenon knowing how bad of shape Dave was in during the recording. After that, Playing the Angel & Spirit are probably my favorite post Alan albums.

Ultra is my favorite DM album ever, but that's mostly because of live versions. Also that year is when I really started getting into the band so it was the first album I got that wasn't a hand-me-down from my New Wave aunt.

I'm old. My first intro to them was my neighbors 16 year old sister listening to "Speak and Spell". I heard "Photographic" and completely lost my mind. I've been an enormous fan since 82. VC was and is an arrogant bad of douche. AW stepped in as a classically trained musician and added direction and melody to DM. MG applied his amazing verbiage, and DG profits.

I LOVE Depeche but once Alan left the band, they lost their soul. "Ultra" has a TON of remnants of Wider's input. It's mostly tuned and tempered Violator B side music.

Alan Wilder was Depeche Mode melody from 1982 to 1995.

The latest from Philly boy Kurt Vile. By all accounts he is a cool guy who does not take himself too seriously, actually he is pretty goofy, as you can see from his vid. And the fact that two actors, not big ones but ones I have seen in a few shows, wanted to do his video shows he must be cool. Looks like a metal dude but is pretty mellow. (Actually I listen to him when I try to mellow out, can't listen to Charged G.B.H., Discharge, Misfits... ect ect all the time. Hey, can't be pissed off and aggressive all the time anymore.)

Here is the first song that I heard from him. And another actor is in this vid as well.

There really isn't much live footage of Ministry doing Dark Side of the Spoon songs.

And they don't seem to play this stuff these days at all either.

Makes sense, though, thinking Uncle Al doesn't want to play stuff from when he was jacked up on smack.

This is the real stuff here.

Yeah I know I'm a hard core punk but I like all sorts of music..

And I am digging this band right now. Hatchie from Australia. She has a great voice.
