It looks like Nyssa and SirJW came close with guessing 3 goals scored in the first period.Now we will see which Kings team shows up for the next 40 minutes.The one that played lights out in the first period tonight,or the team we are used to ,by only showing up for 60 minutes hoping for a point or possibly 2 points at the end of the game.

That is a very definitive description of one of the issues with Byfield. He’s a big strong forward that should be going to the net and drawing defenders and making passes off of that instead of coasting the sideline looking for a magical pass. It is very reminiscent of the complaints we had about Kopitars game in his later years.

Byfield was a total disaster on that two-on-one.

No one on this planet, much less the duck’s goalie, was concerned for a second that Byfield was going to shoot the puck.

I think he’s trying to be Kopitar more than Byfield right now. He should do the Kempe thing: just work on his shot in the off-season. Then I would have him simplify/focus his game, crashing the net with a high shot bias.

He doesn’t seem to have much confidence in his own shot. Maybe for good reason. QB really needs to work on his release and accuracy.
