But these car collectibles pics are real cool. :good:

So as long as Letsgokings.com has been around (or pretty close, anyway) I’ve been known as “Sean53” on these boards. This was back in the late ‘80’s, and I couldn’t think of a clever hockey related name, so I used my first name, and tried to think of the first number that wasn’t used by a King….at least that I could think of. I went 1 thru 52, and could think of at least one Kings player who used that number, but when it came to 53, I couldn’t think of anyone. So I became “Sean53”. Since then, we’ve had plenty of “53”’s on the team. Since then, I’ve used it for many things like usernames on other sights personal tags to identify my property, or whatever….but never in a password or pin, so you hackers can forget about that! LOL
So when Hot Wheels made these 5 cars to represent their 53rd anniversary, I had to have them. They are….
‘64 Chevy Chevelle SS
Custom ‘56 Ford Truck
Custom ‘62 Chevy Pickup
Twin Mill III
Custom Cadillac Fleetwood

When I was around 10 years old, the Dukes of Hazzard was probably the greatest show on tv! It was definitely one of my favorite shows. Every character on the show had their own distinct vehicle that basically matched their character. The two wild kids had the bright orange Charger. Uncle Jesse had the old, beat up, yet reliable truck. Daisy Duke had the sexy Jeep. Roscoe and Cletus had their cop cars. Boss Hogg had his white convertible Cadillac with the bull horns on the front. Cooter the mechanic, drove around in his Tow Truck. Etc. and the company “Ertyl” was smart enough to put out a diecast set with them all. And I had them! I played with them every day, and destroyed them all. That complete package unopened today, would fetch a nice price on eBay! Heck, even the highly damaged ones with no box are worth something today! Unfortunately, mine ended up with the rest of my toys….either given to a younger neighbor kid, or tossed in the trash when I thought I was too cool and too mature to have them.
So for many years, I’ve wanted to get them back, but the prices were too high. Especially for the old Ertyl set. Well, after starting this thread, I thought to myself “how can I brag about my diecast collection, when I don’t even have the King of all diecast cars?!
So a few days ago, I pulled the trigger, and added not only the nice, pristine version of the General Lee, but it came in a package deal with the “Barn Find” edition! Barn Finds are supposed to be what the cars would look like if they were run down, not working, and stored in a bard for decades, until someone comes along, discovers it, and restores it. Only these are pre-restoration looking. Now I need to work on getting the other show vehicles! 😁

Digging this thread Sean. Anything Mopar is amazing and something I’d love to own. Not to change the topic but have you acquired any diecast cars from Moon Equipment Company? Thanks for sharing brother 👍🏼

Thank you, Steve! I don’t even know of Moon Equipment Company?! I’ll have to check it out.

“Leave the gun, grab the cannolis!”

No, this isn’t THAT car, but it’s such a great line from the movie!

But there’s certainly no shortage of Cadillac Fleetwoods in the movie, as you can see in the video!

They fabricate parts for hot rods, co-sponsor a lot of the drag committee. They have diecast cars available with their branding and such
Ah yes! I knew of Moon Eyes. I thought you were referring to some diecast car manufacturer. There are so many nowadays, that I figured I missed one. LOL
I haven’t seen any of their diecast cars, but I’ll do a search. I’d like to see what they got!

What kind of a Kings fan / Diecast vehicle collector would I be without a few Zambonis?

Not a very good one!

I’ve been neglecting this post for the past week or so, but I’m far from finished! I have a lot of cars to go! My latest addition to my collection is a break from my usual purchases. My typical purchases are Muscle Cars, Famous Movie/TV Cars, and Race Cars. But what do you need when you have a huge collection of fast cars?….a city impound tow truck, to keep them all in line! 😁
As a little kid, I loved the old style tow trucks, and all the tow equipment on the back of them. I wanted to be a tow truck driver so bad. As I grew up, I lost the interest in being a tow truck driver, but never stopped loving tow trucks. I present to you the 1967 Chevrolet C-30 Dually NYPD wrecker!
Be careful where you park, or how you drive, because you don’t want to see one of these pull up on you! 😂
