***Calgary Flames vs. LA Kings GDT 3/20/23 7:30pm on BSW***

Actually, he's not necessarily a good buyout candidate. According to CapFriendly, should Cal get bought out this summer, he'd be on the books for 5.1 mil for 2023-24, and then 100k for 2024-25, then 1.1mil for 2025-26 then 1.1 mil for 2026-27. so bad for the short term, not bad for the rest.

Thanks. I hadn't looked up that buyout cost yet. My post was born out of sadness and frustration rather than knowledge. And, of course, you are correct that the $5.1 million for next season would seem to make a buyout unworkable.

What's next? LTIR after a mystery injury? Cal is proving to be Rob's worst decision so far. But his many successful actions on the plus side makes the Petersen contract completely forgivable.

do we get to bury more of his cap next season than we did this season if he stays in Ontario?

That was the first time Calgary has given up 8 goals in 3 years. I watched the game on TV but it seemed like people's hands got sore and their voices got sore too. Not as much excitement and cheering on goals 7 and 8 :).

Goal 8 was weird....I sit just to the left of that goal net, and swore it did not go in. So everyone down at that end was kind of like, "oh...well....yay, I guess...." I think the horn was even a bit delayed for that one. Also...we were tired of getting up so much!! A lot of the crowd had left at the mid-point of the period, too. For once I won't complain about that because it was clear we were going to win, AND people were trying to beat the rain home.

Buy out candidate for sure. Cal needs to find another line of work.

I would much rather add a draft pick and move him for some other team's bad contract. He's guaranteed 11M in actual dollars after this season so I think the Kings will have some options.

Once they pay that signging bonus for next season on july 1 hes only owed 7 million, one in salary for next year. He would be moveable once that bonus is paid, minus the 10 team ntc

I'm a few miles out. (Hawaii is considered in market? Lol).

When I had meetings in Hawaii, the meetings would last until 12:00pm and then I would head back to the condo and watch the Kings play on the east coast at 1:00pm not on Bally's but on Fox Sports 1, crazy!

I miss the weird guitar intro.
