***Carolina Hurricanes vs. LA Kings GDT 10/18/25 >>6:00pm<< EARLY START on FanDuel***

The only thing I can imagine is that Hiller wanted to try to get Laf going by pairing him up with Kempe (perhaps also see if Laf can step into a the center role if needed).

It seems like HIller is all about number of games played and Turcs does not yet meet the quota to be given any serious consideration by him,
The Kings would be better off having Juice going back to center than continuing with this foolish plan of converting Laf during the season. Guess it shows just how bereft the cupboard is in Ontario. Gonna be a real tough stretch until Kopi returns. By then the season may already be over. Hiller sucks…

Evan Rodrigues is 5-11, same weight. Nazem kadri is 1 inch bigger, same weight. W. Karlsson is 1 inch bigger and 10 pounds heavier. Point and Gourde are both smaller.

Basically the last 5 SC winners all had key top 6/9 center players around the same size as Turcotte.

I mean...it would be nice if he were bigger, but Turcotte's success does not hinge on his size, and neither does LA Kings' success. At this point it's either something we don't know (maybe doctors are preventing him more than 10min/game for the rest of his career in order to not become tired during the game and thus more likely to get coimplacent and at bigger risk of being hit and get another, potentially career-ending concussion?) OR it's the coach.
I think if it was a medical issue we would've heard about it by now.

Kouleas and Gabby were questioning Hiller's judgement today on NHL Radio. They weren't believers in the Laffy experiment and were confused why it took so long for QB to skate at 1C with Juice and Fiala/Kuzmenko. Hiller's shortcomings are being noticed and the seat gets a bit hotter. It wasn't just our fanbase that were shocked and bewildered by Hiller's playoff mental meltdown.

For more Hiller dunking here's Mcindoes two recent comments:

for the all intrigue team:
Honorable mentions: I’ve already made the Kings’ Jim Hiller my first coach fired pick, although maybe he’d want to challenge that.

Here's from his predictions article:

Los Angeles Kings

It’s always a little grim, but we need a “first coach fired” pick and Jim Hiller would seem to fit the bill. That’s especially true given a very tough early schedule, which sees the Kings open with seven of eight games against teams that made the playoffs last season, including the Avs, Knights, Stars, and Hurricanes. Let’s say Hiller gets the pink slip on Oct. 24, just in time for the new guy to get a chance to hit the ground running against the Predators, Hawks and Sharks.
