I believe that even though the linesman skated away from the puck, the referee never blew his whistle and Gabe still started his attempt. It was only after he touched the puck that we heard the whistle in the arena.

Kopi looks like he is dragging a blocking sled behind him. I don't know if the coaching staff is overusing him or if he is staying out too long. Even during the OT, I thought he was extending his shifts too long.

As talented as Kopi is, I think goalies have figured out that he is going try and open them up and go 5 hole. And this season it has not worked so well (2020 too). In his prime he was usually a 40-50% guy (except for the occasional 10% season). I don't have a problem letting the kids take their chances; especially with Kopi being used so heavily during the game.

Congratulations I think to the following posters who correctly guessed Debrincat would score the game deciding goal in the SO, which nobody guessed is when the game would be decided. In the past we have not counted Shoot out winners as credit for the GWG so this will be up to Nyssa to decide:

In another first, everyone who selected a blackhawk to score a GWG picked DeBrincat. I don't think we've ever had a near unanimous win like that before, and of course it gets coupled with a shut out on the other question. If I was Nyssa I'd claim that there was no GWG scorer (as credited by NHL stats, there is not) and keep enjoying fantasy camp since it really won't change the standings. As for the game itself, getting that point was crucial. Kudos to Moore and Danault for coming through. I was reminded of the beginning of the season when the Kings would control play, but every single mistake cost them a goal. This was different however, there were mistakes all over the place that weren't costing them (and others that did). I'm not ready to chalk it up to being this team is now better and can stay in games against lesser competition when they play terrible, but it was an anomaly. They still absolutely controlled the first and third. Had to head to the airport at the start of the second so I caught most of the rest of the game at that point on radio but I was back for OT. That too many men was....well it was the cherry on the top for just how sloppy the Kings were all night. Lets see how they respond on Saturday.

3v3 sucks, they need to implement a rule similar to basketball where you can't cross back over the red line (center court line) once you enter the offensive zone.

I agree that there should not be a winner. The league -- and this GDPoll -- have never counted SO winners as GWG. Why start now?

I think part of the OT issue was that they just couldn't get off this ice once they lost the faceoff.

The league had this once upon a time, and it was dreadfully boring. If any of you watch other games, the 3v3 can still be exciting. It's just that a handful of teams, like the Hawks, have decided to suck the life out of it. The current format can be salvaged by doing as [MENTION=15088]beedee[/MENTION] says: prohibit taking the puck back over the red line, once the offensive zone has been gained.

That's a good idea and would make 3v3 slightly more bearable. Personally I'd rather they just stick to real hockey, 5v5 in overtime since they have the shootout implemented. I miss 5v5 in All-Star games too.

I think it might be better to eliminate a two line pass from your offensive zone back to your defensive zone to anyone but the goalie during OT.

A one-line pass from the neutral zone back behind your side of the red line is often necessary in setting up an attack.

I think all the play would end up in the neutral zone. The players on defense would make the red line their friend and just clog things up between the lines.

I'd rather not get back into line passes that are really confusing to the players. How about making it simple, once the offensive team enters the zone, the next time the puck crosses the blue line out it can only be played (first touch) by the defending team. Think of the cherry picking opportunities (caveat being the goalie can freely play it if they shoot it all the way down).
