...Mayor Bass ordered an emergency inspection of my building, and since I'm the manager, I had to be here. The inspectors just left. The violations cited include chipped paint, a leaky faucet and loose door knobs.

Meanwhile my best friend, who lost his home in the Eaton Fire, can't get a permit to rebuild becatuse they claim "the inspection department is under-staffed".

All of my family and most of my friends have left California in the past five years. Yesterday I got a text from my buddy in Texas who moved there from California last year. He just paid $2.49 a gallon for gas. Assuming I'd be going to the hockey game tonight, I filled my tank today for $197.00.

This is madness, and pretty much the last straw for me. I'm outta here.

I moved my family to Oregon in 2018. I don’t miss California at all. Especially L.A. I was born in Hollywood in ‘70, grew up in Glendale, moved to SLO in 2004. I’ve never lived in L.A. since.

We were struggling in Cali, been on the East Coast now for six years. Wouldn't change a thing..

Our son got his engineering degree at CalPoly. We loved going up to SLO to visit him… and going to Firestone! Central Coast is magical.

If you can afford it and don’t mind the politics and culture, it’s an incredible spot. My mom and sister are still in Carpinteria. But it’s just not for me or my family. We prefer the forest and lots of land around us.

I lived there in 2004-2005. It’s grown a lot since then. It no longer has that smallish city feel. And of course property is completely unaffordable.

My dad and his dad both earned their aeronautical engineering degrees from CPSLO. Both went on to careers with Lockheed. That’s why we lived in Glendale.
 
Well, missed the first. Let's see what the Kings can do in the second. And my 2 cents on living somewhere else- not for me. I've been to lots of places and still love LA (LAX, now that's a different argument.)
 
Watching the Kings PP borders on painful. Total absence of confidence or aggressiveness. Doughty hasn't changed a thing, he still passes to the other team. Kuemper is keeping them in it.
 
Has anyone seen a King deliver an intentional hit tonight? And the turnovers… OMG… from everyone.

Grew up in LC just above you. Dated a few girls from Glendale High.
 
Let me know when we should start booing… this display of incompetence is really emitting an evil stench.
