Chychrun to LA?

Couldn’t afford to keep Roy. As long as we’re dreaming, it would have to be Gavrikov-Clarke and Anderson-Spence along with Chychrun-Doughty.
This was more of a what if it happened this season scenario. Next season, yeah, Roy would be gone.

Blake has proven he'll toss hand grenades so never say never. :D
Don’t see this happening but I think Verbeek could actually be crazy enough to have interest. Think the PLD of WPG days is his kind of player. ANH has loads of cap space and plenty of wingers who could play with him.

The more I think about this the more it makes sense but the only way it happens is if Gavrikov goes the other way. Now why would Gavrikov accept a trade to Ottawa when he has a NMC? Ottawa would have to agree with a contract extension in the offseason. So that certainly complicates things but it makes sense for both team if the Sens like Gavrikov which they should. He's an excellent defenseman even if his counting stats aren't as good as Chychrun.

Here's what I came up with:

Kings receive:
Chychrun & Ridly Greig
Ottawa receive:
Gavrikov & Kaliyev

That trade frees up 1.3M in cap space for the Kings brings in a Left Shot D man they've wanted for years and a bottom six pest in Greig.

Ottawa gets an excellent d-first veteran in Gavrikov to add stability and a talent injection in Kaliyev.

It all started with Taylor I think. Giving all these bloggers who have no journalistic reason to be there, and giving them press passes. At least Gann( Frozen Royalty) does fantastic interviews and does not offer speculation.
Imagine thinking Gann is good lmao. That dude's a clown. Russell Morgan is not arrogant and interacts well with almost all fans around the NHL. Maybe support your fellow Kings fans and letting him live his journey or dream instead of tearing him down?

On the most recent episode of 32 Thoughts, Elliotte Friedman says the Kings would be willing to move Kaliyev for a depth player with some edge... (see my trade proposal above...)

He also said Doughty is the 2nd most physical defensemen on the team. Which is why we need Englund in the lineup and we cannot play Spence and Clarke together.

I know we all hate Blake right now but the man nailed it with the Englund signing. 2 years 2M for the perfect 3rd pairing dman for this team.
Agreed it was a good signing. Englund plays the style that the Kings badly need, yet they ultimately need a player like Englund with more speed and skill.

I guess next season Blake will focus what money he is able to free up on a physical LD who can skate and a goalie?

Guess I’m now one of Elliotte’s sources now.

The only way the Ottawa deal would be remotely close to working is if Clarke is going the other way, and Roy is peddled off elsewhere.

The other problem is, he’s a left shot, and that would create a minor problem for us systemically.

And you don’t trade Gavy here, that’s a mistake.

Totally. One great point at Bernstein made to the Winnipeg guy is that the talk of benching Englund or Kaliyev was stupid. We're not going to end a losing streak by changing 4th liners and 3rd pairing defensmen.

Englund has provided needed physical play and hasn't been a complete pylon. You can't ask for much more for a guy making essentially minimum salary.
