D.J. Smith Hotseat Thread

Turcotte is a major disappointment for a top five pick. This is primarily due to being injury prone and an inability to put up points. He has still proven to be an NHL player, and plays harder than his size. He doesn’t hurt the Kings, but he doesn’t have an impact either. The team is never better or worse when he’s in the lineup or not.

I would like to see him included in a multi-players/picks trade for Petterson. I think he is still a throw-in candidate and would be happy for him if he could pull an Amadio and produce somewhat elsewhere.

If he can't get that lineup to win consistently, what will he do with this lineup. Remember the Kings don't have the goalie; they once had just a season ago. Or 4 months ago.
Bruce Cassidy has a long established stellar coaching career that goes well beyond whatever is happening in Vegas this season. He has a career winning percentage of .630. He’s got a cup and been to the Final twice. He’s a fantastic coach. If hired he’d easily be the best coach since Sutter.

No doubt he would be the best coach since Sutter. Obviously something has gone south with Vegas. Not sure if the team had tuned Cassidy out because with that lineup and average goaltending, they should be winning.

Not my favorite coach but even I think the Kings should already have an offer out to him. This is a "Golden" opportunity.

They don't have average goaltending. They have Adin Hill. :)
They also made a mostly lateral trade with Whitecloud for Andersson.
It is good to see Vegas struggling and making some bad moves. I don't think a lot of this was Cassidy's fault. He got their defense to be amazing during the Cup run. So maybe the players got sick of that style. Also, trading Logan Thompson for two 3rds was an apparent mistake.
