After not scoring with an empty net for 8 minutes. DS has to be on the hot seat. Inexcusable. He has to go.
It’s so frustrating watching an experienced NHL coach mismanage shifts so badly. Part Deux. I could probably do better than either Hiller or Smith. And I’ve never played even a second of ice hockey.DJ is desperately trying to outdo Hiller running his top guys into the ground. If he tries harder he should be reducing Sammy's minutes to 1 or 2 per game. He got Kopi up to 25 against the Islanders but only 23 against Montreal. I am sure the top guys will be totally refreshed for the upcoming road trip.
And at the end of the day I will still look back more fondly on the DJ stint than Hiller’s wave of destruction. At the end of the day, Hiller will have left with a winning record. DJ, not so much.
In all fairness, the Kings are playing a lot better and DJ has done a few good things well. If nothing else, the lines seem stronger than they did under Hiller. He also seems to understand that players like Clarke and Byfield need to be given a bit more opportunity.I think it was obvious to everyone, including the front office, that the coaching change bounce dissipated rather quickly. I think it's just as obvious that Smith is not keeping this job past game 82 because he has been unable to break the pattern of failure that has produced so many blown point opportunities. He lacks the creativity and courage necessary to support a winner. This dismal season can't end soon enough.
Playing better? They are on a 4 game losing streak during the most important stretch of the season. In all fairness, the Kings are playing a lot better and DJ has done a few good things well. That said, the entire coaching staff needs to go this off-season, with the exception of Greene. The Kings need to implement a whole new system (hopefully one that is much more dynamic) and move on from the follies of the past.
The two losses before and the two losses after the Olympic break were worse games than these OT clunkers. This year’s Kings can look terrible for four games and you can still find lower valleys. It’s incredible, really.Playing better? They are on a 4 game losing streak during the most important stretch of the season.![]()
Yeah but I want them to lose and do well at the draft j/k.Playing better? They are on a 4 game losing streak during the most important stretch of the season.![]()
Big picture, if this Kings do get in, those loser points may be the straw that breaks the owners backs for a rule change.Yeah but I want them to lose and do well at the draft j/k.
Jokes aside, though, they do look a lot better than they did under Hiller - that doesn't always mean they look good enough to win, however.
As many have pointed it out before, ties after regulation always resulted in a point for each team. If they really want to do something they should get rid of the exhibition point.Big picture, if this Kings do get in, those loser points may be the straw that breaks the owners backs for a rule change.
