That is great to see. But quite honestly, not real surprised. His injury was late September which is a full 3 months ago. Perhaps we see him on the next homestand or on the road trip through Florida later in January.

Go Kings!!

I sure hope bringing him back doesn't have a negative affect on the successful defensive chemistry the Kings are currently enjoying.

I never play the trade proposal game but since you started it, what would be your ultimate deal?

Agreed!

I’ve heard several ”experts” saying he would have been a lock for team Canada in the 4 Nations if he was back playing at the end of January, here at LGK people talk about if his return is a good thing or not… 🤦
He had back-to-back 50-point seasons. He will make this team better. I don't get the negativity towards him but it's not really surprising on this forum. Folks wanted to run Kopi out of town a few years ago as well.

There is merit to this thinking. I'm as big a Drew guy as anyone else but the Kings are top 5 in team D and guys like Clarke are getting really important minutes. It sounds ridiculous to be nervous about adding an all -star experienced veteran to your line up...but the pairings will change....pairings that have developed excellent chemistry in Hiller's system...and along comes the biggest personality (cough-ego-cough) on the team. Would anyone really be shocked to see the Kings slide defensively a bit after DD's return? I predict it.

maybe he's adopting the Scott Niedermayer approach of playing the last 3rd of the season for the remainder of his contract

I have similar fears. Though I do have hope that his boon to PP will offset the potential minus on 5on5 D stability until the new combos gel...and that they will gel in time for the playoffs.

Drew is Drew. We all know what to expect. My concern on D is Spence.

I just want to see Hiller go back to 12/6. Kings really need to assemble a solid 4th line when Lewis gets back. Give Lee and/or Killer a real shot at becoming a true NHLer.

I’m concerned about Trevor Lewis coming back. I am enjoying Sammy’s physicality. I suppose Akil will just take a seat at that point, which I also don’t love from a development standpoint.

EDIT: the above 12/6 would work.
