Drew Doughty Injury :(

Do we get to pull a Vegas with LTIR? Let Doughty sit until the playoffs, take on $11mm of someone else's 1-year salary dumps, and then profit in the playoffs?
This would be smart GM'ing, and we know how smart our GM is...

Doughty has a fractured ankle. No damage to his achilles. According to Dennis Bernstein.
A fractured ankle at a minimum, and his tweet only said "it does not appear" the Achilles was torn. Even if his Achilles is fine, there are plenty of other ligaments and tendons in the ankle. He'd only had an X-ray at that point, which wouldn't show damaged ligaments. I'm not counting my chickens yet.

A ruptured Achilles is very likely career ending at Doughty’s age so I imagine that’s the priority.

If it is only a fracture, it's a damn miracle considering the way his ankle twisted up. I thought he was really screwed.

If the kings ltir doughty to the end of the season, I'm betting the crap outta their under. Even if they pulled a marner trade they aren't built to use him

FWIW, after getting my ankle screwed right I was on no weight-bearing crutches for 6 weeks, weight-bearing crutches for another 6 weeks after that.

Elite athlete PT should keep his leg strong enough during the healing. But as all said compared to the alternative, this is a good day.
