And replace them with who?
You think Lias Andersson can shut down Kaprisov or Kyle Conner?
Call up Turcotte? Fagemo? Thomas?
I know, just roll with 3 forward lines. 13-55-89 are ready for second line duties.

Should be a rule of the board; can't call out a player to sit unless you present a plausible replacement.

I wouldn't sit them but I'd drop them to 3rd line minutes...the only exception might be Kempe. Hard to sit a 30+ goal scorer when you know he can potentially get hot and pot a couple goals like he did vs Calgary.

Top line needs to be changed. Iaffalo has 1 goal in 28 games. No goals and 1 assist in February. One goal and 3 assists in March. No goals and 1 assist in April. It's preposterous that he remains on the top line and first powerplay unit. Name a top line player on any team with that type of production.

Could not agree more. Well said.

I've passed up free tix twice this year and given away tix (the Kraken massacre game) so I'm kinda in the same boat. That being said, I've probably been to more games this season than I have since Gretzky signed. I sucks getting that sinking feeling every home game, especially when we give up that first goal and you know this team is unlikely to make a comeback.
I went yesterday for my fourth game this season because jt was kind enough to offer me his extra ticket. I guess I should have told him that I'm a jinx before we went. I'm 0-4 now.

If Brown plays another game this season, I will be incredibly disappointed. I get that he had a starting spot prior to injury but the only way you play him is if you think he gives you a chance to win...or if you are eliminated from the playoffs and want him to be able to say goodbye.

Prepare to be incredibly disappointed.

And yet the broadcast team had the nerve/gall to say that Iafallo was playing great during the past 6 weeks and those who were saying he should be demoted were essentially clueless fans who only looked at the stats. Another cringeworthy moment for Faust, Fox, Carlynn, etc.

This was a painful loss and it was definitely disappointing, but I'm going to buck the negativity trend and say that I though Edmonton played surprisingly well and just looked hungrier than we were expecting. Their forecheck was relentless and caused all kinds of problems for us, and as hate-able as Smith is, his puck handling was a deciding factor and rendered all our dump in attempts pointless. Especially toward the end when we tried to rally an already too late response, they locked down with some swarming defense that is usually uncharacteristic for them.

It was winnable, and a lot of the criticism of our play was certainly valid, but we aren't going to over-achieve every night. I was actually worried about the timing of getting two injury players back, which is a weird feeling to have.

Not ready to throw in the towel yet. Considering all the injuries we've had we are lucky to still have decent shot at a playoff berth. With that said we need to start winning again to get that playoff spot. Also the guys seem to play better on the road than at home for whatever reason.

A better coach would have abandoned dump-and-chase knowing Smith’s puck handling ability.

Edmonton's new coach is a genius in my book. He has these guys playing the best I've seen in years. And... They pulled off an old school cherry picking play...sneaky! The defensemen were not 100 feet away from the forwards as they have been in the past, too. He's got his team hungry and ready to play, not just relying on McDavid & Draisaitl to carry all the weight

Man is is a very tight race for a playoff spot. Kings need to egt back to winning games cause there is no room for loses. They were 3 point up and in the coarse of what 5 days find themselves 3 points behind second place and Dallas is not far behind with games on hand on the Kings.

It is coming down to Kings vs Vegas for the 3rd spot in the Pacific. The Athletic model has us at 79%, down from 87% or so yesterday, and Vegas at 38% which is basically the same. So the Kings need to play .500+ down the stretch while Vegas plays .700+. And the other teams are all predicted to be in on virtually in with Nash and DAL at 90%. The only team to scoreboard watch is Vegas.

The one silver lining is we have 9 games to go which although it sucks from a games-in-hand standpoint is at least playable. Some of these teams need to play a lot of games. Too bad Minnesota has statistically clinched because they have 13 in 22 games. Dallas is 12 in 21 days.

The Kings are fortunate Vegas has been so mediocre. Right now the Kings will, in all likelihood, not be a wild card team. They are tied with Nashville and two up on Dallas but both teams have THREE games in hand on the Kings. So yeah, it comes down to Kings vs. Vegas.

jom

Cringe is their game. I ain't seen Patrick in awhile.

I’m not ready to write Dallas as a lock. They have a tough schedule to close it out.
That game against the Kracken really hurt the Kings. This road trip will do a lot to deciding their fate because I can see Vegas finishing 7-3. Even though the last 6 games are non playoff teams for the Kings; I have a hard time seeing them go 6-0. They have to get points on this trip even if it’s only 3

I’d be happy if Vegas only went 7-3. I see 8-2 as just as possible. They’ve gotten much healthier.

Kings only need to go 5-3-1 for the former but 6-2-1 for the latter. Agreed 3 minimum on this trip is needed.

I don't think it's as much the Kraken game, as not getting ANY points out of these last two home games. Just can't happen this time of year.

After seeing the game replay it was clear that the first 2 goals EDM scored should not have gone in.
Quick was way off his angle and gave McDavid far too much room short side.
Spence made a real bad read which rookies will do.
Durzi was still pissed at Kane and ran out of position on the third goal.
The effort was there, execution was not. Lemieux looked a little lost at times.
Was nice having Roy's physical play back in the game.
Hopefully we get fully healthy while getting enough points to get in.
Like Todd said, this stretch is crucial to development.
Danault was the only one showing the 'tricks' playoff veterans have.
Kopi's forgot how to ramp up his game, maybe Phil can remind him.

Having 2 days off twice this week is sorely needed.
