***Edmonton Oilers vs. LA Kings GDT 4/7/22 7:30pm on BSSC<<***

Such a disappointing game given their opportunities on the power play. Team won't make playoffs if they can't score on PP this late in the season. Worst record (last 10 games) of teams fighting for a spot. If PP doesn't improve (got to mix it up already!), I think this ends up missing the playoffs. Need Drew back ASAP! He leads by his play on the ice. I wonder who loses the A if he makes it back this season. Has to be AI, right?

PP has sucked the entire season, why is it critical in the last ten games to make the playoffs? Right now it’s about turnovers and defensive play so I agree with getting DD back but I wouldn’t count in it since there is absolutely no updates on his status.

Game was over as soon as Danault got bounced from the faceoff circle. What a terrible finish.

I'm not big on faceoffs as an overall statistic (the Avs are like 28th overall this season), but in this particular game we could not win crucial faceoffs, and that really turned the tide for the Oilers. Every PP faceoff was lost.

Has been a trend recently, worrisome since we have been at the top of the league all year.

Powerplay or not, this team can't win without key veterans doing more. That "top line" needs to produce, Quick needs to make that last save. Not saying they played bad, but we all know lines 2 and 3 are really the top two lines. Line four is rough without Lizotte there to lead them. Not faulting first line for tonight, I guess keeping McDavid to one is something, but they need to contribute offensively or we can't even get in, let alone do anything in the playoffs.

Of course Drew being out is awful but the killer is missing Mikey too. His 20+ minutes of heavy, responsible play would have saved a couple goals at least.

Got to watch my first game in person since the pandemic. Team didnt look sharp from the start of the 1st. Told my buddy there would be some adjustment and pushback, and there was, but this game came down which team could execute. Obviously you want guys like Lemieux and Roy in the line up, but i think those guys probably disrupted the flow a bit, and both made some costly mistakes. Overall this looked like a team that simply wasnt on the same page.

9 games left, two likely tough games against Minn and Colorado which would not surprise me if we lose both. That means that we probably need to win at least 5 of the remaining 7 after that to secure a playoff spot UNLESS Vegas, Nash and Dallas have issues as well. All of those 7 games are against sub-par opponents and are definitely winnable...just tough to see this team winning 5 of 7 (or 5 of last 9)

Congratulations to the following posters who correctly guessed within +/- 2:00 or less of 4:01 of the third would be the credited game winning goal time. Nobody guessed it would be credited to Bouchard:

Congratulations to Rogie-Vachon as our only poster to get all three points missing by 28 seconds. I was on a plane for this whole game so I missed what sounds to have been a frustrating affair.

Top line needs to be changed. Iaffalo has 1 goal in 28 games. No goals and 1 assist in February. One goal and 3 assists in March. No goals and 1 assist in April. It's preposterous that he remains on the top line and first powerplay unit. Name a top line player on any team with that type of production.

The team's abysmal home record remains a mystery. Why can't this team perform in their own rink? Laziness? Complacency? Lack of commitment? Kopi's laid back leadership style?

Whatever the reason may be, the inability to get motivated for games at the Crypt must be remedied before next season. We fans deserve better.

This is why I am terrifies to watch them in person. Don't want to go through the traffic and the lines just for them to score measly 1 or 2 goals and lose the game.

It's the first powerplay time that drives me to the edge - what message does it send to the team when you do not convert EVER, but you get that spot on the top powerplay? It baffles me. I've heard him explain why he doesnt' change the top line and I kind of get it (but like you am amazed it doesn't get changed) but PP1 time for a guy who can't score to save his life is just not right imo.

I keep getting the 2004 feeling - 13 losses in a row to end the season.

Ughh I hope not. The last month of that season was brutal! Then again we had 1234235696969 injuries...

I'm sure PP1 will start producing again once Dustin (Scoring Machine) Brown gets back and takes his rightful place on the first PP unit.

Sit the top line against Minn and Colorado. Why waste the energy.

And replace them with who?
You think Lias Andersson can shut down Kaprisov or Kyle Conner?
Call up Turcotte? Fagemo? Thomas?
I know, just roll with 3 forward lines. 13-55-89 are ready for second line duties.

Should be a rule of the board; can't call out a player to sit unless you present a plausible replacement.

I've passed up free tix twice this year and given away tix (the Kraken massacre game) so I'm kinda in the same boat. That being said, I've probably been to more games this season than I have since Gretzky signed. I sucks getting that sinking feeling every home game, especially when we give up that first goal and you know this team is unlikely to make a comeback.

If Brown plays another game this season, I will be incredibly disappointed. I get that he had a starting spot prior to injury but the only way you play him is if you think he gives you a chance to win...or if you are eliminated from the playoffs and want him to be able to say goodbye.
