Fagemo Recalled.

3rd this year? Really would love to see this kid get a better shot with the Kings. 34 goals in 38 games and yes, I understand that AHL doesn't always translate to NHL success but gotta be better than Arty?
Lias Andersson was excellent in the AHL and couldn’t cut it in the NHL, but at least he got more of a fair shot for that to bear out.

Gotta have Turcotte, Fagemo, and Thomas all on the roster next year. After watching the likes of Bjornfot and JAD get claimed and Fagemo claimed preseason, any one of them would likely be picked up also. Unless any are moved this offseason. So been saying it, what is the plan? Why not give Sammy a chance? Worried it’ll tank PL’s game?

Right shot power play specialist- isn’t this the guy the Kings have been missing? 34 goals (16 on the PP) in 37 games is no fluke. The guy he is tied with has played 52 games. 3 hat tricks this season alone. Seems worth the time for the coaching staff to improve his 2-way game for the NHL, doesn’t it?

he's had opportunities and hasn't done much with them - not saying he won't figure it out at some point.

But remember, when you question why Fagemo isn't playing on the top line, just remember players like TJ Tynan and Martin Frk.

Oh, and NSH waived him too...

I’d love someone with inside access to the coaching staff or management to nail them down about why this guy isn’t getting a real shot. I don’t need to see Phil Danault or Laferriere on the PP. I’m a fan of both players but they don’t belong on the PP. I don’t need to see 7 dman when the team can’t score 5 on 5 and now has hit a dry spot on the PP.

Put offensive players in specialty roles the same way you put defensive players in specialty roles if you want to take advantage of the special gifts they bring to game. It shouldn’t be this difficult to think outside the dogma of deferring to seniority/responsibility/paycheck.

Maybe there's more to it - if they recall him, to they need to send anyone down? If so, who are you OK with sending down?

Who said he should be playing on the top line? I mentioned the right shot void on the PP.

And I am well aware of the potential comparisons to Frk and Tynan. Your condescension is showing...

9 mins of ice time with zero PP doesn’t exactly equate to ‘opportunity’. Furthermore, the two examples you list above are not exactly a good comparison either, given that FRK is definitely a one trick pony who can’t skate very well, and Tynan is extremely undersized. Fagemo skates with determination, and while he’s not a huge guy, he’s definitely average size for an NHL forward.

I’m not saying the guy is going to score 40 goals in the big show, but he definitely might be that right shot, shoot first mentality we need on our power-play. My assessment is that he’s very similar in style to a guy like Adrian Kempe, a European power forward who skates in relatively straight lines, not afraid to make physical contact, and has a strong shot.
