Fire Hiller!

Gotta say I like the line combinations Hiller put together for NJ - effectively creating 3 dangerous lines. Turcotte also has looked very good so far as center (providing even more reason to move Lizotte to wing when he returns).

Also big shout out to Clarke who looked much improved in the defensive zone. I wonder if the plan will be to alternate both him and Spence going forward, with Spence lining up against the more physical teams.

Could be a coincide and I don’t expect it to last but it seems like he has successfully lit a fire under PLD’s ass. Nice work Jimbo!

From all I’ve heard from PLD, I get the impression he needs really explicit directions. Seems Hiller is providing that.

Wow! How can u play at this level without critical.thinking skills? 8.5mil for someone needing handholding

I agree with this. He seems like a very good natured guy, but also a little… child like? I’m not sure, but PLD is like that overgrown teenager that really needs explicit and direct instruction on what needs to be done.

PLD looks straight up like a robot out there sometimes so I wouldn't be surprised if he needs really explicit instructions, which yeah I have no idea how that translates to millionaire athlete but hey whatever. He's been better the last 4, obviously something Hiller is doing differently to motivate him. Hiller seems a lot less stubborn in his ways than whoever we had before.

Hiller does seem to be an excellent communicator with a high emotional intelligence - which is something this squad needs.

Todd’s figure out what kind of a team you want to be approach clearly didn’t land with PLD. Meanwhile Hiller emphasized “speed speed speed” even when “skating back to the bench” on day 1. Lo and behold. PLD apparently needed to hear that spelled out. Oh well, points streak for him.

dean had a plan and stuck to it and delivered. blake makes hail mary's and trades all our draft picks for immediate playoff exits. and he traded quick.
Trading Jack Johnson for Jeff Carter 8 months after trading the 2 best young forwards drafted by the Kings since Kopitar for Mike Richards was seen as a Hail Mary. And don’t forget the season before that Dean traded a 1st round pick for Dustin Penner.

Hey Blake has definitely done some dumb sh*t. But so did Dean. All of these guys make bad decisions all the time. I just think it’s important to remember that.

There’s going to be plenty of time to judge Blake this summer based on what this team does in the playoffs.

I concur
