Gallant or Beaudreau?

I was one of the few that liked Robbie. He showed fire, passion, was a disciplinarian, didn't care what his players thought, etc. Exactly what this team needs now.

Plus he was one of the leading scorers in the WHA in his Phoenix Roadrunner days. (I know it's got zero to do with coaching ability, but I just like to wax nostalgic about the "old days". <sigh>)

I think the only reason they have not fired Hiller is that they are holding out for Deboer who will not coach this season so I do not think either will coach.

They could fire Hiller and promote Newell as the interim coach just to shake things up. What will happen is the Kings will go on a run, make the playoffs get bounced out early, the players will say we want him to be the coach, and this thing starts all over again.

Ken has been a GM for decades overall and he has never appointed an interim coach as far as I know.
So he will not do so now.

god help us all. But Luc is dumb enough to do it.

Unless Hiller has their names in some compromising files, I doubt that would happen. If nothing else the hockey they are playing isn't fun and isn't boosting their statistics enough, if there is no motive in seriously contending.

Either one?
Not going to happen this year, if so, it would have happened already. I think Holland is looking at this as lost year whether they make playoffs or not.
I think he's looking at the next 2 years and will hire a coach who has won and will do the heavy retooling in summer geared towards those 2 years, already started with Panarin and will either hit the center position before deadline or during the summer. I think then he'll work on the D core, especially the left side, getting more mobile and D that push the play.

This aligns with my hopes and expectations. People can knock Holland but all of the forward acquisitions plus Forsberg have been grade A.

Dumoulin was a solid backup plan when Gavy chose to leave but he has been really disappointing this year. I don’t really hold that against Holland. But it is true he will need to make a move as savvy on D as he has for other positions.

Grade A in terms of depth signings, agreed. Rob had those too, though.

I'd also say the Dum is playing exactly like he had been when we acquired him, so if there is any disappointment there it is due to unrealistic expectations. Ceci has been disappointing.

Can't blame him for Gavy not wanting to resign, but Spence for a 3rd was a low spot.

The high spot, so far, was getting Panarin to choose to come to the Kings. Whether or not that trade ends well, this is the first time, in quite awhile, that a top player has chosen to come to the Kings - the importance of which cannot be overstated.
