How are Fiala and Kuzmenko doing?

Fiala's skating again, not sure what the timetable is for his return.

No idea about Kuzmenko, who had surgery on a torn meniscus. At the time, he was listed as "week to week". Looking on Google, the recovery time for that is 4-6 weeks (trimming) or 3-6 months (stitching). We're already at the 6 week mark since the surgery, so I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Well, at the 1:36-1:38 point of this video the Kings posted last night, Fiala is shown working out with no brace on his leg, so I'm assuming it's recent footage to inspire us.

Towards the end of the Kings watch-along of last nights game Patrick O’Neil said both of them were on the ice recently. Just skating I think, not practicing.

Thanks!

In the regular season the Kings were outscored 13-5 against the Avs. The only way the Kings win a game in this series, is if they keep the Avs under 3 goals a game. That is going to take an incredible defensive effort.

The Kings will not score more than 3 goals against the Avs in any game, and Kuz is another defensive liability. Putting him on the ice for PP purposes against the #1 penalty kill in the league, I hope will pay off, however, most likely nothing will happen.

I hope they take Armia out, due to molasses syndrome.

Damn the torpedos! Bring back the early 90s, and let’s win Game 1 7-6!
This is the actual gameplan but it’s more like win 4-3.

It won’t work but at least it’s a plausible scenario. Hiller’s 2-1 gameplan isn’t even remotely plausible against a team like the Avs with this Kings roster.

I'm not sure there is a plausible plan with this roster going up against a team with a No.1 offense and a No. 1 defense.

Even though I liked how they played, I'd still bring in Kuzy for game 2. We need all the offense we can get. I don't know if I'd put him on the 2nd or 3rd line & who moves down. Moore could go to the 3rd or Armia or Wright could go to the 4th. But I would drop Joseph out of the lineup.

I haven't managed to watch the game, but from what I read Armia was terrible. It would be the obvious choice for a bump one line down to replace Joseph. Or maybe even sit as a healthy scratch. Can't afford a no-show in the playoffs...
