PLD looked better last night. How's that for a silver lining?
He looked very much the same as he has all year. He is just playing with a top winger that knows the when / where to go in order to score. Laf has had many a puck on his stick in the slot (from PLD) only to fumble the play. He is a rookie, so that is understandable. His other linemates to date (not Fiala) rarely get open for a pass in the slot. They are more perimeter players happy to play along the boards.PLD looked better last night. He needs to call the ball or he's gonna get waived off...He's on approach! Maybe landing soon...
it’s going to be a shame if this all falls apart. The scouts have clearly done an exceptional job, finding talent everywhere - and we gave a big chunk away for two duds - PLD and Fiala…. And yes, I know he has elite hands, but his errors occur almost as much as his positive plays. Starting to look at him as a net zero.

Winnipeg is getting it done as a big tough team who won't get pushed around. Exactly the type of team you want come playoff time. The funniest part is, after all this recent Doom and Gloom, we are tied with Winnipeg (of all teams) with the fewest regular season losses in the West as we approach the midway point of the season.
I think it's safe to say most of us probably would have been happy with that before the season started.
I think we got a bit spoiled with the way we started our season. Although the recent trend of blowing leads and losing games we should have worn is admittedly very frustrating.
Equally frustrating, at least for me, is the fact that Winnipeg, the recipient of that very generous trade, has quietly become a dominant force in the West.
I think it's equally safe to say that Rob Blake has become the Jets fans favorite NHL exec. Makes me wonder how many Jets fans had a picture of Santa Claus with Rob Blake's face superimposed on it over the holidays?
100% spot on accurate.Winnipeg is getting it done as a big tough team who won't get pushed around. Exactly the type of team you want come playoff time.
Sorry, I got burned last time I was optimistic about this team so now I’m a Debbie Downer too… ;-)Am I the only one who is positive about this team. This road trip they will go 5-1-1. This is just my expert opinion. I can’t carry the positivity all by myself. I need a little help. I’m about to go streaking through the quad, who‘s with me?
I noticed this. Seems he has lost his steam from earlier in the season. I think I started to notice this before the xmas break. Maybe and illness thing. He is playing fewer minutes this year. The team just needs to stop working him so much on the PK, take fewer penalties...Kopitar needs less minutes, he got old really quick. Stop playing him so much Todd, the player is 36+. Where is Margo when you need her?
I'm a fan of his...just not his penalties...I'm a big Fiala fan but yeah he's.. not looked great the last month or so (not many have). My assessment which means jack sh*t is that we have a big jumbled mess of expensive players that Todd has no idea what to do with - I think the lack of RH shots is a real problem. We can sort of stomp on bad teams but we're gettin smashed 60% of the time by good teams. Our D is a saving grace that's for sure, but good teams are just dominating our offense.
