If Quick wins the Cup...

Amart vid, in the dictionary next to class should be a picture of Alec. Wonder if he will retire, go out a champion?

Don’t give him the microphone.

I'm not sure where he got this info, becuase I can't find it anywhere else (Maybe some random interview during the parade?)

But apparently Quick wants to keep playing.

Quick will get an offer if he decides to keep playing. There was a rumor going around that the Rangers were interested in bringing him in as a backup.

He has a lot to prove, though, if he plans to stay in the league.

I think he gets no offers. Why would some team want him as an over-the-hill backup when they can try a young dude at less cost?

I really hope I'm wrong but I don't see anyone signing him to a contract that can't be stashed for no cap hit in the A. Good luck to him, but it's pretty clear that he's going to keep going until he really cannot.

In reality he projects to be a 3rd string goalie at the moment, but teams interested in him would sign him primarily due to locker room presence and playoff experience. There is also a chance he can bounce back and, therein, end up being a steal at a vet minimum. Quick has a very strong reputation in the league which should not be discounted.

There was an interview right when he got traded I believe where he said he wanted to keep playing, or some tweet from some guy.

I'd not count Quick out quite yet. Idk. Maybe a summer to work on things will do him wonders. I'm a huge Quick fan and wish he'd find his way back to retire in LA.

Today's HHOF class really increases the odds of Quick getting in, IMHO. Barrasso and Vernon are pretty much peers with mutliple Cup wins and Conn Smythe trophies. Quick's win totals look good until you realize that the other guys had around 90 ties each.
Quick was quoted before the trade as saying he wanted to play in 23-24 so it will be interesting to see him trying to get some more wins next year to pad his stats.

The main thing I cared about this past season was Quick moving up the all-time rankings. Glad he was able to pass Vanbiesbrouck even if with another team (---- off, Blake). I am really hoping he gets the opportunity to play longer so he can catch Miller (which would put him in the top-15 of all time and top U.S. goalie as well [which he is, c'mon]).
I hope he gets that chance.

Thanks for directing me to the HHOF class news.

Too bad they weren't on the same page - Quick retires becomes goalie coach, perfect ending. Too late now, but would've been cool.

I don't see Quick as a coach-type dude based off the 3 things I've seen heard him say over 15 years or whatever - but I may be wrong :)

Yeah Quick is not a goalie coach type guy. Besides the fact that he comes off as a guy with not much to say, he’s also a guy who relies completely on his athleticism rather than his fundamentals. You can’t really teach that. The same reason why the greatest players are never great coaches. You can’t teach what they do.

Yeah a lot of people who are good at what they do are terrible at teaching it. Two completely different skill sets really.
