Kempe injury update

As you can see by my Avatar....the Kings follow me around WHEREVER I go...relentlessly....which in a season...now once again steeped in mediocrity and total disappointment...can be somewhat tortuous. The '12' and the '14' do offer a bit of consolation though.

The Kempe injury (and Arvy and Mikey) is officially the end of what was to be a 'contending' season. My depression is palpable.
 
I truly don’t care if Blake stays or goes. I don’t care if Luc stays or goes. I don’t care if Hiller stays or goes.

At the end of the day they will be judged by how far this team goes in the playoffs. Simply, win and keep your job. Lose and a couple of them will be asked to hit the road.

Regardless, even if this team needs to fully rebuild I’m 100% confident we’ve already got our foundation in place in Byfield. He’s 21 years old and on any given night he’s the most effective player on the ice.

If we have to go back to square one and build around him then so be it. We’ve already got the most important piece.

Need to make the playoffs first...
 
I think Blake has another season ahead of him provided he doesn't do anything silly at the trade deadline. At this point I'm looking for him to trade off assets that are not in the Kings future plans and start loading up on 1st and 2nd round draft picks (and prospect equivalents) to rebuild our prospect pool.

If he trades away high round picks for rentals prior to the deadline then he needs to go.

I don't think the Kings will become contenders until they transition away from aging vets and place the team on the shoulders of our future leaders and stars.
 
Why do people here feel that getting to the playoffs is an accomplishment, even if they are swept in the first round? How does that help this team? Experience? Money for the bottom line? But at what expense? A lower draft pick and another just wait til next year.

Welcome to the Danny B, Luc, & Blake era....the bar has really become that low.
It's been a decade since the Cup, and now fans are saying a good season is a one round and out playoffs.
Demand more from your front office. Mediocrity is unacceptable.

I wear a jersey out all the time on errands or shopping. Get lots of positive shout outs from other Kings fans. I work remotely and for the longest time, wore a jersey every day during the season.

I'm not sure I've ever walked out the front door without Kings or Rams gear on in the past 35 years, unless it was work or a business meeting.,.,.but even then I probably had a Kings hat or Rams hat on my head. It all started after my first wife got me this for Christmas in 1985, then after the Gretzky trade it was pretty much 24/7 Kings for many years. There aren't a lot of photographs of me in the past three decades...my daughter is constantly amused by the fact there are so few photos of me...I think I found like ten pictures of me since the 80's...her and her sisters take like 20 selfies a day....but whatever pics there are of me, I'm usually wearing this:

I have the same issue but with Kings hats. My friends have even made comments when they see a pic of me and I'm not wearing one. As for jerseys, I've got close to 60 so my pics are usually very different looking. Beautiful sweater though. I've got that one and the reverse one, but with Luc.
 
If juice is headed to LTIR, management needs to bring Fagemo up ASAP and let him play every game until trade deadline. He should slot with Kopi/Byfield, and they should also showcase Kaliyev in arvys shooter spot with Moore/Danault. This is probably both guys last crack at sticking, unless Blake already knows they both are auto winning a roster slot next season. No way either guy passes through waivers, and this should also help decide whether our forward corps is worthy of any trade line acquisitions. The bottom line is, with juice out, we’re missing a scoring winger on lines 1, 2, and 4, plus a 1st pair defender. That’s a tough hill to climb..

You seem to think that Anschutz cares about winning a cup. He's a businessman--it's all about the revenue. Only one team can win a cup and odds are that happens 3 times a century--it's why teams HATE rebuilding which for most teams mean years of poor attendance/no playoffs and hits to the bottom line. Just ask Columbus how many rebuilds they have gone through in 25 years with their two playoff series wins. Looks like we've wandered way off topic.

The smartest move is just playing the kids more and don’t pursue any trade.

Sounds so simple but it’s too risky when your job is on the line so I fully expect Kopi and Doughty to play 22 & 28 minutes a game for the rest of the season.

We can't afford to give up any more futures. We already don't have a 2nd, 3rd, or 5th in the upcoming draft

I don't think people would recognize me without a Kings jersey or Rams hat. For me personally, I kinda feel naked without them. :oops:

About that Forum Blue and Gold sweater...thanks! I love it. And thank God for eBay. I've been able to continually replace that exact sweater when it gets worn out. I believe I've gone through four of them...and this one is just about due for a replacement.

You have SIXTY sweaters? That's freakin' awesome! I have a grand total of two. But my lump sum pension check is in the mail (140 grand...sweet!), so I'm planning on getting a new black one and a reverse retro next week.

I highly suggest facebook marketplace and ebay for some reasonably priced gems at times. I buy the new ones when they come out but had to be very patient collecting a lot of the older ones. I've also got quite a few practice, all star or ones like the military tribute ones. I do pretty much have one of ever jersey they've worn though.

Thanks for the info!

eBay has been a real life saver for me lately. I wear a size 16 shoe, and finding quality hiking boots that size has been a real problem. A hiking buddy suggested eBay and for the last few years I've found high quality Merrell's my size for about 1/3 the price. I've been paying less than 50 bucks for boots that sell for upwards of $150.00. The Kings jerseys have been kinda expensive, but I've managed to find that exact sweater a few times. You have to be patient and diligent, but I always eventually find my sweater.

I'm hoping for these two next:
