I don't think it has anything to do with the "complainers", it just has to do with being cheap a$$ bastards. To me it looks like all the people who whined & complained about the different racial groups heritage nights have won. Because instead of Japanese, Mexican, or Korean heritage nights they have Hello Kitty, Dia De Muertos, & K-Town nights. I suppose Country night is in place of Caucasion night? And there’s no Jewish, Central American, Indian, or Native American themed nights, which they’ve had in the past. Also, no Pride night. Which in LA makes no sense. But is a victory for the complainers.
Als far as the stuff they actually give away, they are both less frequent & cheaper in quality. Anything you’d actually want to keep has to be purchased in a more expensive ticket pack. I don’t really like to complain about this stuff because the games are what’s important. But these are low quality even compared to what they’ve done in the past. I don’t know if anyone’s going to look at these & say I have to go to that night.
Edit - I just realized there’s also no Black history night. Which I mean holy crap. That’s shameful.
In 23/24 the Kings had 10th highest fan cost index in the NHL (which strives to calculate the cost of taking a family to a NHL game, including tickets, concessions and parking).
All-in that's not horrible, but when you look at the changes which took place last season (increased ticket prices, food/drink prices and smaller portions regarding food) I wouldn't be surprised if they jumped up a couple spots.
That said, they can't even find it in their deep pockets to offer viewing of games on one app (let alone a free app and public tv like the Ducks) or give away something as valuable as a $5 item to fans in attendance. Honestly you'd think they were a WNBA team losing money year over year.
