Kings promotional schedule is out!

The Kings announced the promo schedule this morning.

TLDR version = it sucks again. A far cry from 10+ years ago and behind what teams like the Hawks are doing (they announced their schedule yesterday with lots of bobbleheads and pins if you arrive early).

Kings promo nights are the best - not only do you get to purchase the ticket to the game, but if you want the actual giveaway you need to purchase it, via a ticket pack, as well. Haha seriously, they continue to take steps backwards, not forward.

Really my only favorite Theme Night is El Dia de Los Muertos because I like seeing Kings stuff with skeletons and such me being a spooky dolphin.

Hmmm, a Spooky Dolphin Theme Night. :mhihi: :cheers

So the giveaways:
Pom-Pom (cheap-throw-away item)
Snoopy Bobblehead (the best giveaway, but why not a Kings player?....because you know, Kings hockey?)
Paper Crown (if you thought the pom-pom was cheap throw-away......)
Kings cowboy hat (What is any fan going to do with this??!?! - Who wears a cowboy hat in LA?!?....and why is there even a country night in LA?!?!?)

Most of the themed nights are mid at best. Some laughable (see country night)
Giveaways are garbage.

AEG is a corporate money grab owner.
Hope Uncle Phil sells his AEG sports teams sooner than later.
AEG really does not care for their sports teams fans whatsoever.

From 1973, get a Faberge gift set.

From 1970, high stick your friends with a regulation hockey stick.

It’s just so lazy and borderline embarrassing because you can very obviously see what’s happening here. Last season the Kings averaged just over 17K per game. Crypto capacity is 18.2K. The org has done the math and doesn’t see value in doing decent giveaways to sell another 1K tickets per game.

It comes down to hard dollars and cents. The fan experience is completely ignored.

Contrast that with how the Dodgers reward and entice 50K fans per game to buy the most expensive tickets in the MLB. It’s constant giveaways, relevant brand partnerships, special events like concerts, former player signings, tours of the stadium; etc ON TOP of having the most talented team in the sport with the biggest payroll.

What if told you...Ohtani could skate.

The sad thing is, a lot of people who own sports teams have little to no interest in caring about their team's fans and are just in it for the money. That's a common trait among corporate entities. Very rarely will you find people who buck the trend and run it the way their fans ask them to.

he probably can.
Here's my pitch: The Dodgers' loan him to us(as profit sharing partner, stake in the team-what-have-you) as the in-house emergency goalie for the arena for all home games. There can be an Ohtani cam on him at all times that "fans" can check in on, geared up, ready to succeed as a goalie. And if he gets it, let him give up a million goals, no issue. Outsells Quick's jersey in two days (forgive me, Jon).

Japantown will paint another mural, deservedly so.

Also, I saw a new way of spelling a swear word, want to see if it gets starred out. Forgive me. Test: Mfka. so fun.

The organization doesn't even pay for the swag...the sponsoring company does.
It's free advertising for the sponsor & no money out of pocket for the Kings.

I remember SCHEDULE CALENDAR NIGHT...could hang those up from October thru April with all the games on it.

Quality tee shirts?

The hats have come thru nicely the last couple of years - NEW ERA....good stuff.

TICKET PACKS BLOW btw...

Worst. off-season. Ever.

To me it looks like all the people who whined & complained about the different racial groups heritage nights have won. Because instead of Japanese, Mexican, or Korean heritage nights they have Hello Kitty, Dia De Muertos, & K-Town nights. I suppose Country night is in place of Caucasion night? And there’s no Jewish, Central American, Indian, or Native American themed nights, which they’ve had in the past. Also, no Pride night. Which in LA makes no sense. But is a victory for the complainers.

Als far as the stuff they actually give away, they are both less frequent & cheaper in quality. Anything you’d actually want to keep has to be purchased in a more expensive ticket pack. I don’t really like to complain about this stuff because the games are what’s important. But these are low quality even compared to what they’ve done in the past. I don’t know if anyone’s going to look at these & say I have to go to that night.

Edit - I just realized there’s also no Black history night. Which I mean holy crap. That’s shameful.
