Kuz is back

You have to think he's going to be taking some time away from Kopi. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes the first option this season. I very much hope he does.

Yup, Kopitar will be slowing down some more this season. The question is, will he lose a half step, or a whole step.

I like this signing just fine, but wow is everything so underwhelming so far this offseason.

From Spence, to the draft, to this ... tell me there's a broader point to all this?

As a resident of T.O., I hope Trevor stays. But logic says he would one of the names in a trade to bolster the blue line.
Moore is easy to love. And at 4.5M, he is a better value across the board than Boeser who will likely sign for around 8M tomorrow.

And yet, the team has to change. Moore has all his success playing with Phil but has no chemistry with Kempe and Kopitar. I’d imagine Boeser would fit well next to Byfield and Fiala, and Laf would fit perfectly with Danault and Foegele. That’d be an effective top 9 with Kuz back for Kopi’s last year. If Moore can help get this team K’Andre Miller or thereabouts, it’ll be quite a turnaround from this weekend/today.

Agreed, Moore is an absolute steal when it comes to value (based on his current contract). You bring up a good point regarding his chemistry with Danault and lack of chemistry with others - but the positives is that he has a game which projects to stay solid for quite a few more years and really can be trusted in any situation.

Boeser is a far better scorer than Moore but that is really where it ends. His lack of speed and injury history is a question mark but he has the ability to be a game changer (which I do not really see from Moore). I'm not sold how well he would do on a line with Byfield due to Boeser's lack of speed, but he would (by all projections) fit well with Kopitar and Turcotte providing Kempe an opportunity to re-unite with Byfield. Now that we have Kuz back, however, Boeser (essentially a better version of Kuz) becomes redundant, however.
