Kuz is back

Modry was completely under appreciated. Even in his advanced age he was given the impossible task of babysitting a rookie Jack Johnson and he still found a way to be one of the most effective dmen on that 07-08 squad.
I'll concede the point,(and, I believe he was still Jack MF Johnson back then, so, yeah) Dean. Due to the fact, since the invention of the internet, it feels like Modry was the Kings' OG whipping boy. Guaranteed I bought in. Now, if some channel were to show a marathon of Kings games from 2001-08 for a day, I'd probably see what you are talking about.

But, know this: 89 percent of the reason I'd watch that marathon is for Bob and the rest is because I'm a loser.

Aside: It seems like Peter Harrold was a fan fave, yes? Not Lappy numbers but, people who knew, loved that guy.

Not a fan of Malott? Sure, no one is ever going to mistake him for Mark Stone on the wing, but he and Turcotte seem to generate a chemistry that results in some 2 on 1 chances in the offensive zone. Now, if only one of them could capitalize on those chances. I feel like they should have at least 5-7 goals between the two of them.
I don’t think Malott has has added much in any game he’s played this season. He got a beautiful goal in SJ but for a team that was behind the puck all night in a miracle win, he was really behind the puck. Got horribly exposed around his own net.

But, he looked real good in the third last night. Best he’s looked.

I always had a soft spot for Harrold. Too small. Too unskilled. Too smart to scratch.
That’s him. I’m glad he’s still working in the league.

This gets me thinking of other players and soft spots. He didn’t play too many games here but I really liked Yuskevich. So solid and reliable.

This thread is slowly becoming...

which all the haters can tilt their head and make it: worst jersey ever seen at forum/staples/crypto.

Hockey is for everyone. =)

I was very disappointed when they re-signed Kuzmenko… especially after he disappeared in the playoffs. Don’t understand why it’s so difficult to find a right shot winger to play with 11 and 9. Kuzy is once again playing himself onto the waiver wire. Just another management mistake.

I think we all knew resigning Kuz was a mistake, but I'm assuming the reason was that he was a big part of the PP last season. Outside of scoring, he just does not add enough so when he's not scoring it's hard to justify keeping him in the lineup. Sad because it really seems like he is doing his best out there.

I feel bad for the guy too. When he’s playing it looks to me like he’s trying. It’s not like he’s lazy out there on his shifts. But he just doesn’t seem to have the same mindset he had during the POs last season. He gets pushed around a lot and it’s like his puck handling has gone downhill.

Kuz seems to do good after a trade. Focus on that and maybe Toronto (desperate right now) would take a chance. They'll be reluctant to send prospects so maybe a 3rd or 4th round pick ?

They'll need to wait for the trade deadline. That way he doesn't use up all his good games on a new team before the season ends.

Malott is fine in spots. But I don’t think he’s an everyday player. I’m glad Kuz is coming back into the lineup. Hopefully he’ll start to contribute more. But he needs to be on a scoring line, not a checking line.

And… he’s back… according to Dooley. Kuz will play tomorrow vs. the Sharks.

And it looks as though Line 1 will officially be 22-55-9. Kings need to send for a hypnotist to help Q with those faceoffs.
I’m glad they’re finally putting them together at the start & not while trying to come back. The other lines are Moore-Kopi-Kuz, Foegele-Danault-Laf, & Armia-Turcotte-Perry. The Kopi line is the one I’m most curious to see if it works. I’m pretty confident in the other 3.
