***LA Kings @ Anaheim Ducks GDT 4/19/22 7:00pm on >>ESPN<<***

Hopefully Cal paid attention tonight and took notes.
That's how you play goalie!!!

games against teams playing for nothing more than being a spoiler are a **** show. coaching and playing against "go long to the Pontiac" pickup football is a bitch

Wouldn't be surprised if T-Mac rides Quick through the end of the regular season and the Playoffs now. Huge win.

Overjoyed at the win. But…Boomer said today he watches the Kings play and they’re hanging on by a thread. He’s right.

This looks like a team that is tired, lacking chemistry, and playing not to lose. The young talent looks desperate, especially on the backend, which is understandable given they’re trying to help this team make the playoffs on top of subbing in for hurt mainstays. The players who have come back from injury aren’t in sync yet. Only Danault’s line resembles one belonging to a playoff team.

Anyway, still think they can win the next three. But it won’t be pretty.

Yeah, but that's all kind of okay though. You just described what the actual reality is.

The important part is that they're being asked to perform in must win games with the next level on the line and to experience the pressure of a playoff race. This experience is incredibly valuable, especially sharing the ice with a vet like Quick and what he did tonight. This is great stuff and will help decide which of these new personalities are indispensable moving forward. This is fun stuff as a fan again, finally.

Exactly. I told my wife that it sure is fun to be watching do or die games in April with the Kings again. Lots of times we'll be 'watching' the game while doing something on the phone or otherwise distracted. Tonight the Kings had full attention.

Wow... and here I thought the Kings played their butts off against a rival whose captain is retiring. The second was bad but the energy was great in the first and third.

playing with house money. I'm good with a tight playoff run. First-round experience would be a bonus. Cinderella beyond that probably

The Kings barely beat a team that had won only three of their last twenty games, and other than Quick they didn't look good doing it. Opponents are applying a hard forecheck on the Kings d-men, and it's working much of the time. The Kings board work in their own zone is suspect, and the long outlet passes are not getting the job done on a consistent basis. As Clif said, the Kings are hanging on by a thread the last couple of weeks.

To their credit, when they gain the o-zone, they are still looking dangerous, but do they have another gear, when the playoffs start.
