***LA Kings @ Calgary Flames GDT 11/14/22 5:30pm on BSW***

This is how far back I go with the Kings...Not bragging, just giving away some facts.
These are some of the Kings I remember watching:
Cowboy Bill Flett, Eddie Joyal, Marcelle Dionne, Butch Goring, Charlie Simmer and of course, Dave Taylor.

Now, I'm outta here for tonite.

If Kopi slides it under that gaping 5-hole Markstrom gave him we'd a got overtime.

my feed got wonky right as that whole sequence transpired, but it looked like he hit the crossbar and it came back out? I didnt get to see a great replay of it. Either way, it was a fitting end to a game the Kings had no business winning. The only take away for me tonight is that they didnt just lay down after putting themselves in a huge hole, and i'll take that. There are going to be nights where the team is making bad decisions, but at least they didn't let the effort slide. On to the next.

You don’t think we have? Not to age myself but lived in LA my whole life well into my 60’s been a Kings fan since their inception. Moved to Denver to retire enough of my life to share. You’re not alone as a long term kings fan

I don't go back as far as I do not remember Joyal or Flett as Kings...Flett was playing with Philly (then Atlanta as I recall) when I started following the Kings in 74. All of the others....oh yeah. Goring is still my all-time favorite King.

This was just a sloppy game for both teams. Nothing much to takeaway other than lots of goals scored but neither team looked better or worse than the other. Nice to see the Kings not roll over when they were down by 3 to start the 3rd. Kaliyev with 2 goals and all of the sudden he's on pace to double his goal output from last season even though he's getting only 11 minutes of ice time a night which is down from last season. If there's one big complaint about Coach Todd this season it's his ice distribution for Kaliyev. He's got a 21 year old winger with the best shot on the team and probably one of the best in the league but he insists on giving him 4th line minutes. Very odd. The kid deserves to play more minutes.

Anyway on to the next one.

Congratulations to the following posters who correctly guessed the former kings would combine for 4 points. Nobody guessed a final of 6-5:

4 points (1 point) :
Rogie-Vachon
Nyssa42

That game was like the godfather quote "every time I think im out they pull me back in." Unfortunately it was also like godfather 3, terrible.
I would almost try to make a "but they won the second and third" argument but really those decisions that led to the goals were all so.... Poorly thought out that everyones probably better off dumping this one in the garbage.
