We've said "game of the year" a few times around here. But seriously was any win bigger than this? Unreal.

If I?m a western conference team, the kings are the last team I want to see in the playoffs. A mentally tough, hard working team with the kids getting good playoff race experience.

Yep. They could have given up down 2-1 on a back to back. Instead they gutted out a huge win against a playoff contender.
 
Watching Quick talk to Cal before going into the shootout is the kind of interaction I think of when you talk about veterans mentoring the next generation.

What a way to end a gritty game.

none of us would have believed it if someone from the future came to us at the beginning of the season and told us we'd be playing for 2nd place at this point of the season. And then "future person" tells us we do it without Sean Walker, Drew Doughty, Dustin Brown, Mikey Anderson, and with a bunch of guys we didn't even know what they look like....we would never have believed it.

I remember looking at the calendar back in Sept and thinking, "well....March and April will just be a waste"
 
Kings match up against the Flames better than against the Oilers more than a grinding game than a speed game. Does this give the kids confidence that they can play in this league? I say yes

Of the three games on this trip I figured this was the most challenging to get a point, three so far. Let’s get three against the
Jets
