***LA Kings @ Calgary Flames GDT 3/31/22 6:00pm on BSW***

I could strangle Todd for leaving those 4 on the ice for the entire OT PP. It should have been vilardi, Byfield, kaliyev and spence after the first bunch stood around for a minute straight.

If I’m not mistaken, isn’t there a crazy caveat that you lose the ‘loser point’ if you pull the goalie in OT?

This definitely was the rule. I remember it happening once years ago when a team (Canucks?) were desperate to win at the end of the season. I haven’t seen any evidence that it’s changed.

I think he doesn?t trust them as unit defensively. Ton of skill, but one missed pass or turnover and the flames would score OT SHG.

Why the hell didn't Iafallo send that puck all the way down the ice? Damn!

I have been specifically watching Iafallo the last dozen games or so, just to see how many plays he does and doesn't make, you know, board battles, clearing the zone, outlet passes, o-zone cycling, PP and PK reads. I am totally baffled by TM's insistence on using him as much as he is. Iafallo fails to make plays 75% of the time, plays that any regular NHLer would make in the normal course of the game. He seems to be even more brain-damaged than Dustin Brown.

That failure to send the puck all the way down led to Calgary's PP goal. And there was zero reason for him to not send it all the way down. With all that TM has done right with this team, his stubbornness about AI and DB is blowing my old-man mellowness.

Kempe is just out of juice from these last 2 games. Made a lot of stickhandling errors in the 3rd

I agree that he doesn't seem to have the same jump and smoothness that he had during the earlier part of the season. But it sure looked last night that the ice was no one's friend. Pucks seemed to be jumping, rolling, sticking on everyone.

That was such a huge win. I’m so glad for Iafallo finally getting a goal. And I’m glad it was Lias who got the shootout winner. He’s also had a tough season being in & out of the lineup. I’m glad both those guys got rewarded.

Three out of four against the potential playoff competition.... Honestly this team keeps doing just enough. Playing competition this high you expect there to be moments where the other team is better, you expect that some of the things the kings do reliably will be disrupted. That the kids are growing their games during these games is just the cherry on top. I know benches got shortened and that worries me in a series, but this is looking like a plan that is coming to fruition.

One last note, 28 mins for Durzi? I know he was basically out there the whole ot but my goodness.

Big, Big Win. 3 points on the trip was a positive outcome in my book, would be great to get the next 2.

Sounds like I missed a couple really good games...in The Dungeon at Disney Studios...OT graveyard...no cell signal down there...shoot, I haven't even played the GDT poll quiz in like a week...and the job will go on the for rest of the season. Looks like I've seen my last Kings game for a while...this sucks...but it pays well. Same thing happened at Disney in 2017...missed the entire World Series...same job, same location, same hours.

Oh well...

There's this thing called the internet...you could probably, easily, find a replay stream somewhere...a link that someone here may have even
sent you...:rimshot:

LOL!

Now all I need is for God to create 36-hour days and I'll be all set!

I barely have enough time to shake my dick after I pee... and once I step foot into that subterranean hellhole, I have zero
cell signal.

In 2017 I didn't see one play in the World Series...12-hour graveyard shifts don't leave much time for anything but sleeping and working...but considering the fact it was the Astros cheating, I'm kind of glad I missed it.

Oh well...life goes on... but at the moment I don't even have the time to watch the highlights on nhl.com. Good thing the job pays $91.50 an hour

none of us would have believed it if someone from the future came to us at the beginning of the season and told us we'd be playing for 2nd place at this point of the season. And then "future person" tells us we do it without Sean Walker, Drew Doughty, Dustin Brown, Mikey Anderson, and with a bunch of guys we didn't even know what they look like....we would never have believed it.

I remember looking at the calendar back in Sept and thinking, "well....March and April will just be a waste"

When you look at this list, it?s even more amazing. We are missing some good players?I think we need Doughty, Roy, Anderson to secure that top 3 in division.

I have to admit I am now scoreboard watching, now watching Edmonton and St Louis on ESPN+. 3 goals in the first 6 minutes. Two for the bad guys Oilers

Same. I started watching the SEA-VGK game until Knights put it up 3-0. Man SEA is a dreadful team.

Switched to the other game when it got interesting at 5-5. Sucked seeing the Blues come back just to give EDM the full two in OT. But one silver lining is just how many goals EDM lets in. Their track meet style would be very aggravating in the playoffs but I’m heartened that the Oilers cannot go far the way they play.

That's a nice payday. Work on, brother.

Thanks, and it's nice to have a night off, finally. But it's not like I have a choice...turn this down, I don't get another gig...and I need the money. Glad to hear the Kings are kicking butt, though. 5 out of 6 points on that trip...beyond impressive.

I wish I could see the games, but this isn't the first time this has happened. Along with missing the Dodgers in the 2017 World Series, in 2001 my agent got me a gig near Farmer's Market...he called it a 'little outdoor mall'. Yeah, a 'little outdoor mall' with animated fountains and a trolley.

It turned out, of course, to be The Grove and I was immediately put in charge of what eventually became a $450,000,000.00 project, and the final two months we were working 7/16's. Because of my commute, I got a cot and slept on the project in a Conex. Missed the entire Rams playoff run.

Hopefully this gig ends soon and I can catch a few games. But even if I got cell signal down there, we're actually not supposed to be watching games on our phones...in fact, it's strictly prohibited for safety reasons...although I expect those rigid cell phone rules to be eased up eventually. More and more cell phones are changing the way we work, at least in a supervisory position. So much information at our fingertips. But it's academic under that massive building. We've been forced to communicate with radios.

And it's too bad they don't have tours for the public. Team Disney is probably the coolest building in the world. And it's deceptively massive. I have some killer photographs from the last project. Truly an awe-inspiring structure. But in the bowels it's just as filthy and nasty as any other construction project. I come home looking like a damn coal miner.

And it just boggles the mind(s) of most people that they didn't do anything at the deadline for a goalie.
