I have mixed feelings about seeing Fiala play with Lizotte and JAD, but you can't argue with the results.

And that ending was way more dramatic than it should have been.
 
Much needed win Turcotte line played well they should be given a legit look.
 
Sooooo....overachieving team with TMac. Boudreau just released by the Canucks. Do you make a change?
 
Since we have a +/- question tonight, I will ask why does Alex Faust refer to the minus stat as dash? WTF?
 
I recorded the 2nd and 3rd periods so I just finished. What was Arvy doing out there when he could hardly stand on his skates. I understand the long shift but hey why not tap it back to Copley instead of taking it and icing the puck. Then after his bad angle follow up shot, again he was dead tired and couldn't get back.

Only able to watch the highlights on this one since i'm on the road. JAD had himself a game. Looked good with Fiala. I know Chicago was on a bit of a run but it's good to see a result show like the paper matchup says it should. All the rust should be gone at this point. Hope the boys are ready for Philly, torts teams are always tough and while I don't have the stats in front of me this game won't be a gimme even if in the mental accounting it needs to be.
 
Anyone else think this Turcotte call up is a showcase for a trade?

I'd actually like to see a whole separate thread on which of the current forward prospects are most valuable to keep or trade. The time for those decisions is pretty much here.

Maybe, but his value can't be that high right now so it may also be that they are ensuring he is ready to take someone else's spot. Fox made an interesting comment during the broadcast that you "need to play a kid like Turcotte [at the NHL level]" (or something to that effect). Perhaps Blake is starting to get some pressure to play the top pick prospects.
 
The way i see it is a player cannot play at NHL level unless he actually plays in the NHL.

Random but Alex Faust has been annoying the hell out of me more than usual lately. Such a debbie downer. Anytime anything good happens he refers to the last bad thing a player did and how this is their turning moment or something, every time. It's annoying. Kind of how he also tries to talk like he's an old man, and refers to people older than him as young man (I may be imagining that) - but.. ugh.
