***LA Kings @ Chicago Blackhawks GDT 3/3/25 5:30pm on FanDuel***

After bearing witness to this disastrous, butt-ugly road trip, I'm left to wonder if the Kings will even make the playoffs at this point.

At this point I am half-way hoping they don't and instead start a rebuild off with a high draft pick.

This is just beyond ridiculous.
You'd be surprised how close I came to typing that exact sentnce word-for-word.

And it includes the following sentence about this being ridiculous.

Seriously, I read your post and my first thought was "Is this guy reading my mind? Or did I just type that and not remember."

Yeah.

Kings keep out-chancing the Hawks yet managed only a paltry single goal. I know Knight is solid in net but the Kings also either keep missing the net shooting the puck wide or they keep shooting towards blocking Chicago defenders. They seriously need to practice shooting in the net a lot more. If they're skipping practice, probably that might have something to do with it; if not, then there's no excuse being this impotent trying to get a definitive goal.

Can we trade for a new coach?
What will a new coach do?

It’s an assets problem. Kopi and Keumper were carrying the team. Both are on the brink of retirement.

The young guys still need time to develop.

As the season comes to a close and the contenders start to fight for points, teams like the Kings, with massive holes like a powerless power play, will fall off the wayside.

Black hole team AT BEST.

That’s okay, just wish the Kings would accept that reality and avoid trading prospects for immediate help to do nothing but keep us in the back hole. Let Blake go and, if they do anything, sell at the deadline.

So I guess I would ask: can we get a new GM?

Game over, of course. The Kings lose for the fourth time, with three in a row in regulation losses this trip. Knight may have goalied the Kings but that 2nd period is what really deflated LA. They looked strong in the 1st period only to completely forget and drop their game in the next 40 minutes. That is the sign of either a poorly coached team or a team that is really tired. It looks like both. Despite Kopi finally breaking his goal drought, the rest of the team decided to not give him the support he needed in this game. And Kopi continues to be an ineffectual captain when it comes to leading the team by example. Let's face it, you folks are right in that this Kings team deserves to miss this year's playoffs. And even if they do make it, we already can foresee another first round exit.

New Prez
New GM
New Coach, though I do think Hiller is a good coach but is hamstrung by Blake
New Development Staff
New Philosophy, cuz really, what has the current one gotten us so far? dick

It doesn't get any better; LA has to face St. Louis again not once, but twice this week thanks to this scheduling anomaly. I can only question if this team has their heart in it to get back to playing meaningfully victorious hockey again.
