It's so great to see Kopi playing with such energy and creativity. In the last couple of months he has turned the clock back 10 years!

The team has really come together, especially with the addition of the new guys, and it looks as though they will be peaking at just the right time. Hope momentum doesn't get derailed by an injury to Fiala.

Fiala was back on the ice in the 3rd, so it's not too bad. I might be quite sore and they could hold him out next game. Well done Kings.

I’ll give him credit for not staying out too long on line changes this year. He has way more energy late in the season.

There have been quite a few plays recently by opposing players that have been reckless, and went completely unpenalized. The knee on Fiala tonight being the latest, and the head contact by oshie against Durzi two games previous. I recall Stanley from Winnipeg also getting a cheap one in, possibly head contact or a dangerous board? That oshie shot to Durzi should have at least come under review for some sort of additional discipline no?

He sees what we're seeing, and that is this Kings team is coming together at the right time, and the ingredients are there for a playoff run. Kopi also knows he's not going to get many more chances at getting "the next one".

The thing that stood out tonight was the neutral zone play. I've never seen such active sticks from the Kings, and most of Colorado's attempts to move up ice were unsuccessful. That combined with the hot offensive hands remind me of a couple teams we've seen in the past...

I think that once McEwean"s jaw completely heals he will be holding players taking liberties at the Kings players accountable. I t would have been great if a King stood up for Fiala by crushing Cogliano.

What a great game, this team is for real! And I loved how Spence played this game, let the kid play!!

Byfield with a 5 game point streak. He’s doing the dirty work on the top line and finally collecting some points. Absolutely nothing wrong with his development. He’s 20 years old playing on the 1st line of one of the top teams in the West.

I knew when that puck was wobbling and he shot it I just said to myself, shoot that thing. And viola!

some thoughts...

1} Spence was terrific. Not surprised in the least that he got a point, as his shot is better than Durzi's. I hope he gets more games
2} Kopi doing Kopi things.
3} Korpi looks solid in goal. I like the quietness to his game
4} Walker actually had a good game. Played with an edge for once
5} Dewy had a good game defensively, but was terrible on offense. A real Jeckyl and Hyde game

Doesn't Doughty always seem to overreact on the biggest stages? The flashier the match up the more he overplays himself. So many boneheaded mistakes tonight while doing lots of other typical Doughty fundamental stuff.

I'd love to see Vilardi hit the 30 goal marker before the end of the season. Might cost more to retain him if he does but hitting that number should do wonders for his confidence and he's absolutely got the skills to do it. I just wish he would shoot more in general.

Congratulations to the following posters who correctly guessed the avs D would be credited with 2 points and/or those of you who guessed the game winning goal within +/-2 mins of 0:24 of the 3rd

After the first that game looked like the Kings were going tosteal one. After the second the Avs were damn lucky the refs were helping em back in the game. That third though. Korpi made some big saves, the boys scored some big goals. What more can you ask for against a top conference foe. The fact that Todd has some depth in the lineup hopefully gets him past scares like that hit on Fiala. Have to say Rob gets a tip o the cap. Lets hope this team is set to try and catch lightning in a bottle.

Agree, with one caveat. I wish he'd shoot more rather than be looking to dish all of the time. He passes on some quality chances.

He needs to work on his shot this summer. It is C average, and needs to be at least B+ for a player of his size, stature, and skill level. Even he knows he can’t beat NHL goaltenders, as evinced by his quip confirming a lack of confidence with shooting, while he was sitting in the breezeway after the game with Stoll and Patty O.

I somewhat sense something very special in Vilardi. I think if he stays healthy, shoots more, gains confidence - easy 40 goals a year guy. Him and Kempe pushing 40 in a season? Idk what to even say.

I hope Fiala is ok - that would be horrible if he's out. He's looked off for.. 12? games, where he got a weird hit awhile ago. It's when his production started fading. I think this is some terrible icing on that terrible cake. No pun intended.

I'd like to see Spence way more.

Korpi and Copley are getting it done. I still am on team Copley.

Byfield is improving. As a naysayer I'm willing to say this.

Doughty cannot and should not QB a power play anymore. IDK if he ever could.

Good things. All good things. Kings look like a threat.

Mostly agree but do think Doughty can do it. That last game - BRUTAL, but that was an outlier to me. He’s not a big, booming shot but generally he moves the puck well and can read the play as well as anyone.
