***LA Kings @ Minnesota Wild GDT 4/10/22 >>2:00pm<< on KCOP Ch13***

Well, we played a fine 10 minutes of hockey tonight. Why on Earth does Todd not call timeout? I'll never understand his coaching choices

One thing has become glaringly apparent this season, the Kings ddsperately need a #1 goaltender. Playing with 2 backups has not worked well enough.

At this point, I think Rogie or Plante would even look better

First of all not one of us expected the Kings to beat Minn and Colorado on this trip. I do believe they will win 2 more games this season and will end up 5th behind Vegas and Vancouver.

What a terrible period...Kings literally look small watching on TV...like David v Goliath.

Bad time to go inyo a slump. if this continues, Kings will be out of playoof spot by next week.

When this rebuild began, I predicted they would become competitive, but certainly not a contender, in '21/'22. In that way, I am satisfied with the progress this season. That said, the leadership group and the coaching staff need to change before they can become a contender.

Super fun dipping back into rebuild mentality and thinking about what great experience these NHL games are for the kids. Truly the only positive right now.

I was listening to the game on the radio and Evans said exactly what was wrong with the power play. They extend their shifts far too long and they're not making any passes that make the defense move around to tire them out. The first unit stayed out for 1 minute and 53 seconds and generated nothing

So... the Kings goal differential for the season is now back in negative territory at -1. To me, that stat has been a good indicator to predict whether the Kings could salvage a playoff spots. Negative numbers simply won't get you into the dance.

I agree, they are ahead of schedule by at least a season. I wasn't expecting them to make the playoffs until 2023-2024, however they should be a playoff team by next season. Yes this will be a bitter pill to swallow by not making the playoffs this season, however they will learn from it and next season should be another fun one.

The other issue is that we have so few true shooters on it. Kempe I guess, but whose shot on the PP is the defense afraid of?

Well, when your best shooter (Arvy) doesn't see the ice on the PP, and top PP scorer isn't dressed, yeah the PP is going to stink

Waaay too much deference to Kopitar (& Brown when healthy) and what he wants. An organizational shift with Kopitar has to change weather he likes it or not.
He is not as good as he thinks he is and it's clear as day.
