***LA Kings @ Nashville Predators GDT 1/31/24 4:30pm on TNT, max, & BSW***

As inspiring as he is, Blake needs to go. His lack of size is too big a detriment.
He was useless last 2 series vs. Oilers, just too small.
Theo Fleury he ain't.
Completely agree. 5' 7" is far too small to play center, especially in playoff hockey. But reality is that McLellan loves Lizzo and will put him in the lineup where he can. His future should only be as a wing.

wow, that's cool....Andrew Brunette was a student of Jim Fox's brother in high school (in Sudbury)

1st period is over. Nice goal by Grundy and serviceable performance in net by Rittich. But a late period penalty by Roy hurt them and now LA has to kill it and maintain their composure in the 2nd, as they cannot afford to let things get out of hand.

Kings take a late period penalty courtesy of Roy. Not something they need. Better kill this one.
darn it....I should have picked him for last penalty. He's good at taking late penalties, unfortunately,, becasue he plays to the edge the whole game. Last game at Staples the Buffalo fans were all calling for his head a few times. Can't believe he has gone from my most-disliked to one of my most-liked players. He was also pretty cool at Meet the Players

Very good road period for the Kings. Kept it simple and even as the Preds started to pour it on later in the period they kept their structure in tact. Rittich seemed to get sharper once the Kings took the lead.

Let’s see which Kings team shows up in the 2nd.

I thought he showed way more effort than just about anyone on the team during the 2022 series.

The Kings ending the first period with a lead, but not the dreaded 2-0.

:mhihi: :cheers

It’s gonna be tough to get Turcotte out of the lineup if he keeps playing like this.

I have mixed feelings about him. On one hand, he's shown that he has the skill and drive to play in the big leagues. On the other hand, his history as a frequently injury-prone player really casts doubts about his future as a full-time player, making him another Vilardi but with more injury frequency. I unfortunately might see him be traded away for a lesser pick or player at this point in his career.

Let's see if the boys can turn around their performance in the second periods. That period has been their downfall all season. Please play balls to the wall and put the puck in the net. Don't go into that damn defensive shell.

that is about the "holdiest" hold I've ever seen!!

And HUGE saves by Rittich!!!
