Gabe Vilardi? :bananadance:

I'm only joking...just trying to p*ss-off Tran and jg!

Feel like we gonna end up adding Turcotte to this list eventually.

I learned my lesson about prospects 60 years ago when I was a young boy in love with the Dodgers. They had a 19 year kid named Joe Moeller who had won 20 games in the minors the year before. He was supposed to fit right in with Koufax and Drysdale. Unfortunately, his control was bad and he was often injured. Ended up winning about 25 games for his entire MLB career. After Moeller, there was an entire parade of pitching "phenoms" on the Dodgers. Phil Ortega, Nick Wilhite, Mike Kekich, Dick Calmus, Pete Richert, John Purdin, Alan Foster...as a kid, I thought, "If only one or two of these guys make it big...". As someone else said here, maybe we put too much pressure on these youngsters.
A guy from Toronto asked me, "Whatever happened to Aki Berg? I thought he was going to be a big star for you guys." Later the Kings traded him to the Leafs, so I guess he found out. He's the one who stands out for me.

Seems like every year there was on that disappointed.
I worry that we put too high hopes in these young men.

Oh boy, I have jerseys of 3 of the players listed here.

And, if I recall correctly, I believe Wayne McBean at least dated Alyssa Milano, so there's that.

Every time I drive past the McBean Parkway near Magic Mountain I think of Wayne McBean and by extension, Alyssa Milano.

Teams learned long ago they are in the Hope business.
Speaking of which, it's the NFL draft soon. The ultimate sale of Hope.

No mention of next big thing Scott Parse?

Glad to see a number of Lehoux references. When I didn’t know any better in high school I was all hyped up on his Q stats and couldn’t wait til he made the team.

I also took the word of the Royal Reader (was that what it was called?) pretty seriously on that profile they had on Jared Aulin.
