GDT ***LA Kings @ Vancouver Canucks GDT 4/14/26 7:00pm on FanDuel SoCal***

Does Calgary make a difference now? I'd rather play Edmonton.
If the Ducks win thier game vs the Preds on Nashville and the Oilers get atleast a point vs Vancouver then no playing Calgary doesn’t matter. On the other hand, the Ducks lose in regulation or only get a point in their game, the Oilers lose their game in regulation, and Kings win their game, then the Kings would have home ice vs the Oilers, and the Ducks would be in the WC2 spot and playing the Avs in the first round

I'll give the Kings credit for making a run to get into the playoffs.

I watched the Colorado vs Vegas game on Saturday night and realized, the Kings could not beat either team and will get swept by Colorado. Even with Forsberg playing his best, Colorado will score 3-5 goals a game. The most the Kings will score will be 2. Colorado's speed will decimate the Kings.

I am happy for Kopi, he has 3 more road games and two home games left in his incredible career.

Kopi will most likely be at the end of the handshake line, so give him a standing ovation, as he skates for the last time toward the tunnel. What a great 20 year run.

Playing back to back roadies - which include a U.S. to Canada (or Canada to U.S.) games are more draining than you think.
There's customs involved - which slows down the process.

Teams that play the Ducks & Kings have it easy. They can literally stay in the same hotel and bus 30
miles to the next game.

Seattle to Vancouver seems like a short trip - but a natural let down - and not infusing any different, fresher players - and playing a team in their last home game - the Kings were lucky to achieve a point.

I get it, natural letdown after clinching but Kuemper + OT = OTL. Proven over and over. If Kuemper comes off the pine in the playoffs, Kings chance to advance go from poor to nada.

These are rational takes. It’s been such a slog to get a playoff spot clinched that some letdown was inevitable. VAN goalie made some good saves also.

Only bad part is there’s no way to pass UT now, but even that wasn’t guaranteed with 2 points last night.

To be honest if anyone thinks we have a chance of doing anything in the playoffs I'd argue they've lost perspective and getting in is a bad look long term for us and sets us up for another year of trying to squeak in and lose without Luc getting canned BUT... what can you do when the rest of the division is so bad?

If the Ducks beat Nashville, Ducks play Edmonton.
We can play the Ducks if they win, we win and Edmonton loses in regulation.

If we win and the Ducks lose, we will play either Vegas or Edmonton, depending on what happens in their final games.
