When Spence is good he’s picking the right position and breaking up passes just like that. He’s a smart player. Rooting for him to find consistency.

I have mixed feelings about him as his bad plays tend to overshadow his good ones for the most part in the games as he morphs into Durzi (the bad side of him) 1/3 of the time in his tendencies.

His giveaways this year have been Durzi-esque for sure. It’s a step back defensively from last season, and my guess is better competition is exposing him. Hoping it’s all learning lessons. If he reaches his ceiling he could be a Doughty (ultra?) light, which will be needed to balance Clarke’s gifts and risks.

Yeah but you have to remember he's only 23 year old, and that's still relatively young in hockey terms. He seems to be figuring things out and that's the bottom line ...it's going to go one way or another: He's either going to figure it out or he's not. But right now he's trending in the right direction.
