End of 1st period. Well, the Kings did score but Ottawa ties it after LA fails to convert on their PP. And then Byfield takes a bad penalty late in the period, giving Ottawa a chance to come back.
Seriously, though, I'm getting tired of the "Who is better: Stutzle or Byfield?" takes. Stutzle obviously has talent but I see him as overrated and though Byfield has been going through growing pains, I'd still take him over that other guy. Sure, Byfield's development has taken much longer than anticipated but people who declare him to be a bust and clamor for him to be traded away for a few picks just can't appreciate the value of patience. Not every player is going to be a McDavid, Crosby, Gretzky, Orr, or even Yzerman.
Besides, even if Stutzle had been picked by the Kings four years ago, he would have suffered the same difficulties in adjusting to the Kings' system so it's not like he'll instantly become a difference maker like it's magic.

Missed the first period.
I was hanging upside down in a tree.
I'm going to enjoy this game more than any game I've ever seen in my life.
Not to get into personal stories but this is one worth telling. I should be dead. I fell off of a cliff today and ended up 25 ft down hanging upside down in a tree with both my dogs hanging in the tree on their leashes.
This was witnessed by five college kids, all athletes, and their equally athletic girlfriends, who formed a human chain down the mountainside and pulled me out of the tree then rescued my dogs. This happened two hours ago. If those college kids hadn't witnessed my fall I still be up there in the tree hanging upside down at least 40 ft down to the next switch back, a sheer drop into space.
I'm a little bruised and battered and scratched up but it's nothing short of a miracle I'm alive. I owe my life to those kids.
I wasn't planning on having a drink tonight. That game plan has been altered

Lewis is likely out of the game after that awkward check attempt on Tkachuk earlier. Most likely he suffered an upper-body injury. Either D2D or W2W.
He just doesn't want to hit that 1000 game Mark next game, does he?
