GDT ***LA Kings vs. St Louis Blues GDT 3/5/25 7:30pm on FanDuel***

Kopitar needs to hang it up. He looks really really slow out there. There is no leadership by example on this team. Something needs to change on this team or I'm going to a disgruntled fan the rest of the season and summer.

I don’t know what’s with this team but every year coming out of an All-Star break, Olympic break, or a four nations break. They perform like it’s a preseason games. Nobody on this team seems to think they can score so everybody’s deferring to everybody else.

All due respect? Hiller isn't a head coach, we got him because Kings didn't want to pay for a real coach, he's made it interesting this year, amaze me by winning a cup this year and I'll praise you, otherwise we need to make a change if Kings want to be a contender in the future. Also hate to say this, Kings seem to have become worse with Double D returning, or just a case of the classic Kings being the Kings. GO KINGS GO!

Heavens no! If Blake makes a trade, it’ll be a desperation one to save his job. (Though, honestly, I don’t think the ownership could care less. Like, normally, a GM would be worried about not performing. But Blake seems safe, despite his incompetence and lack of any identity, meaningful plan, or lack of any expectations for this team.)

Just make sure Blake can’t do anything stupid on Friday. That’s the primary objective. This team isn’t going anywhere past the first round, if they even make it. Sell, sell, sell!

This team as currently constructed is going nowhere. Blake will be fired at the end of the season. Hiller will go with him. Go ahead and blow it up.

23 games left. This team as currently constructed is a guaranteed 1st round exit.
Yeah...if we make the, um, you know...

So much for all that optimism. Buncha games in hand, on a nice streak, division lead within grasp...then boom! Five game losing streak. One game in hand. Four points from dropping out of the playoffs.

All that hand-wringing about losing in the first round to the Oilers, and now it appears we may miss the playoffs entirely.

Probably for the best. Time to break it up and start rebuilding. Again.

This team needs size and grit. Blake had his shot. Time to move on.

I don’t know what’s up with this team. This is our 5th straight loss. And we were for the most part outplayed. But then in OT we dominated but didn’t score & then lost in the shootout. So should we be mad that we lost again? Or grateful that we even got a point in the first place? Meanwhile watching the postgame interviews, the Kings somehow thought they played well & didn’t seem concerned. That I don’t understand.

Does this team not understand that you need to shoot high on Binnington all game. Jeez a not well deserved point. Be better Saturday
I was thinking the same thing during the shootout. Kempe & Moore both went low even though he had the whole lower portion covered. Then Fiala floats a shot above his shoulder & scores. If those 2 had taken the same tactic they might have scored.

I turned the game off at the start of the 3rd as I was getting bored and tired. Just saw the score and I'm glad I turned it off when I did.

5 in a row. At this rate, I hope they don't make the playoffs. Every team seems to be much better than the Kings. This team cannot get a flow going, scoring has dried up. Goaltending is sub-par. Defence has too many holes. No sand-paper type players.. Just pathetic. Fire Hiller and Blake.

Nothing will happen until we miss the playoffs so yeah keep losing.

Yeah I was drifting at end of 1st and called it good.

The bottom 10 prospect pool is the worst part to me I think as a rebuild is inevitable and should have started ages ago but everyone thinks we're just missing one player to win the cup or something heh.

It has been that way since the summer. Not picking on you but I like to respond to your takes because you have intelligent takes. Is anyone surprised that we're around the 15th best team in the NHL and on track to squeak into the playoffs and get eliminated easily in the first round? This makes at least the 2nd if not 3rd year where we are stuck in the mushy middle and without much of a future because Blake foolishly trades our future picks for middling fixes.

So many turnovers, giveaways and by god would it kill someone to pass a 2-1 off the goalies pad if there's no clear passing lane? Hell do it on the 2-0 just to be sure there's at least a shot recorded. This team is clenching everything right now, too afraid to make mistakes and consequently making them all the time. The worst part is the frustration penalties are back. I'm sure its not fun in the locker room and as fans its not fun either. The first period the pace of the game was excellent, passes were connecting and then that penalty just derailed the mindset of the whole team. It was encouraging to see Q's response goal, Moore had strung together some hard working effective shifts to be gifted that goal. Those were the only bright spots to carry from the game though. Everything else was an exercise in frustration.

I also had 24 shots for the Kings:
Kings = 24
Blues = 29

I think we may singing a different tune today if Moore/Danault had scored on their breakaways in OT or Foegele in the 2nd, 2 on 0 yielded a shot, etc could go on and on. However, we are smart enough to look big picture and realize it goes much deeper than that.

I am not a fan of Flake but he has now hours to try and make this team better. If he doesn't and decides to blow things up (which he won't because he knows his job is on the line) I am ok with that as well. As someone mentioned earlier on this thread, I honestly thought we had a chance to make a run at the division after beating Vegas on February 24. Sadly, that was our last win.

Here is my take. Watching the Kings the last few weeks has been brutal. They have looked terrible. But every team goes through this. Hell last 10 games the Oilers are 3-7 compared to our 4-3-3. Our 5v5 has been solid overall this season. Our PK has been good still in the top 10 of the league. If we can figure the powerplay out(I know big if) with our solid PK and solid 5v5 metrics we have still have a shot to do some damage in the playoffs. There isn't a top team in the Western Conference we haven't beaten this year. Also I have to stay positive as the Kings are the only team I root for that has a chance at the playoffs haha.
